​​About the Role:

We are looking for an energetic and dependable sterile compounding operator. As part of the pharmacy team, you will execute steps in the sterile compounding operation, including equipment washing, equipment preparation (sterilization and depyrogenation), and kitting of materials for us in the compounding operation. These activities would be performed to support the compounding of USP 797 and 800 compliant medications that are safe and effective for patients, under Pharmacist supervision.

You Will:

 Adhere to the safety and environment procedures as outlined in the Site SOPs and wear appropriate PPE while executing daily tasks.

  • Perform equipment washing and/or preparation as needed to support the compounding operation

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly responsibilities according to facility SOPs.

  • Communicate with pharmacists and report on issues in the lab.

  • Document tasks performed electronically and in logs per SOPs.

  • Utilizes equipment as instructed by the pharmacist.

  • Completes training as required by USP 797 and 800

You Have:

 A desire to become licensed and want to work towards Board of Pharmacy licensure

  • Strong communication skills and can work independently.

  • Full-time role 40 hours per week.

Desired Experience:

  • Prior experience in sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing operations

  • Prior experience in a healthcare-related field

Conditions of Employment: 

  • This position will require working with Hazardous Drugs (HD) and would require that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) be worn for the length of working with these drugs. These items would include gloves, respiratory protection, gown and other items as required.

  • This position requires medical approval to wear respiratory protection in the form of negative or positive pressure respirators, including N95, full face respirator, SCBA, or Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR).

  • Physical exertion required. Including, but not limited to, walking up to 50% of the time, standing up to 100% of the time, squatting and bending up to 20% of the time and lifting up to 80% of the time for up to a twelve hour shift. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

  • Due to the risk of reproductive capability in handling or compounding certain Hazardous Drugs (HD) associates must be willing to confirm that they understand the potential risks (teratogenicity, carcinogenicity and reproductive effects) of handling hazardous drugs.
