Role Overview

Contract: 2 Years Fixed Term

We are looking for a highly capable and versatile Studio Technical Manager to oversee all technical and floor operations within our esports studio. This role sits at the intersection of live broadcast, technical infrastructure, studio systems, and crew management. You will lead the technical delivery of live shows, maintain production systems, manage onsite resources, and ensure all studio activities meet broadcast, creative, and operational standards.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Technical Systems & Infrastructure

• Maintain all production systems, including broadcast equipment, comms, content management, video systems, graphics engines, and core engineering racks.
• Monitor and manage both on-premise and cloud-based infrastructure to support studio workflows.
• Ensure studio technology is visible, efficient, and under clear operational control; serve as a point of escalation for technical troubleshooting.
• Partner with Engineering, IT, and other technical leads to improve systems for content movement, monitoring, and quality assurance.
• Coordinate rentals, deliveries, setup and ongoing maintenance of technical assets.
• Maintain documentation, develop setup templates, and formalise repeatable operational processes.
• Oversee setup and breakdown of all technical infrastructure for each production.
• Provide immediate hands-on technical support during shows, addressing issues live.
  

Studio & Crew Operations

• Schedule, train, and manage technical and broadcast crews: camera ops, lighting, audio, graphics, floor teams.
• Oversee floor operations including production setups, rehearsals, and live show execution.
• Align on credentials in conjunction with the studio manager and oversee coordination with security providers to ensure safe, secure show days for all crew and staff.
• Update and maintain the “Mission Control” document to align internal teams on daily studio operations.
• Schedule production staff in alignment with BLAST and other event partner timelines.
  

Creative & Event Integration

• Coordinate and deliver special studio events such as Town Halls, Camera Days, Influencer Previews, etc.
• Support PR, influencer, and communications teams with logistics and technical resources.
• Ability to source, procure, and manage physical broadcast assets in coordination with vendors and freelancers.
  

What You’ll Need

• Proven experience managing live studio or broadcast technical operations in esports or live entertainment.
• Deep understanding of AV infrastructure, comms, LED, video, audio, show control, and cloud/on-premise systems.
• Strong working knowledge of content pipelines, signal flow, and graphics integration.
• Ability to lead large technical teams under pressure with clear communication and direction.
• Confidence managing complex technical setups and responding to live production issues.
• Experience collaborating with IT, Engineering and remote production support teams.
• Strong documentation, organisation, and planning skills.
• Comfortable working long or unsociable hours during production periods.
