Position Summary The Team Marketing & Business Operations (TMBO) Department is a unique in-house consulting group within the NBA league office focused on driving team business performance through customized insights, best practice sharing and innovation. The primary focus for this fast-paced and collaborative department is on all aspects of business operations, including marketing partnerships, ticket sales and service, marketing, digital, analytics, and data strategy. TMBO is seeking a dynamic, intellectually curious, organized individual to join a team of talented professionals. This role within the Team Partnership Development group will be responsible for building and managing relationships with key team partnerships executives to support revenue creation and fan engagement across a range of core team functions, focusing primarily on the team partnerships business. Major Responsibilities • Provide consultative support and deliver strategic recommendations to team revenue executives with a focus on customized insights, industry best practices, and league collaboration opportunities • Create and deliver monthly best practice materials (e.g., decks, presentations, written guides, team calls) to NBA teams, focusing on key partnership areas such as the International Team Marketing Program, Player Content Rights, digital and social media strategies, marquee tentpole events, Marketing Guidelines, and other relevant topics. • Develop and present scalable sales narratives and tools for NBA teams to effectively promote and sell high-value inventory, including naming rights, jersey patch sponsorships, international assets, practice facilities, and more. • Cultivate strong working relationships with NBA teams and internal stakeholders in the League office, including Global Partnerships, Legal, Media (Broadcast and Digital), Content, Public Relations, Events, Licensing, Social Responsibility, Player Marketing, and others. • Track, analyze, and report on high-revenue and emerging partnership assets, identifying sales trends, new market opportunities, and potential risks. Ensure teams are equipped to capitalize on evolving business landscape and leveraging data to inform sales strategies. • Research and monitor marketing, social, international, and partnership best practices across industries outside of the NBA, identifying emerging themes and innovative strategies to keep the league at the forefront of the market. • Work closely with TMBO and other internal colleagues to identify new team revenue opportunities outside of the partnerships space, develop new commercial strategies, explore innovative platforms, and drive revenue growth across NBA teams Required Education/Professional Experience • Bachelor's degree preferred or relevant experience • 3+ years of relevant work experience preferred. • Experience in building best-in-class partnerships at a team, league, brand, platform, or agency Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes • Solid understanding of the partnerships sales process and activation practices • Strong writing skills, with the ability to create clear, concise, and compelling content for various audiences, including internal teams and external partners. • Experience in developing data-driven sales presentations, using insights to inform strategies and drive decision-making. • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team-building abilities, with the capacity to build relationships across all levels of an organization. • High level of attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality work. • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to take initiative and drive results independently.
