Job Description

The Test Engineer is responsible for leading the test effort for one of the Product Development teams within our Ballpark & Ticketing Experience group. This role will serve as a core member of an Agile team, collaborating with world-class Application Developers, Product Managers, Designers, and Project Managers to deliver the highest quality products in a timely and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively evangelizing quality in all phases of the software development process 
  • Authoring and communicating clear test plans, results, and coverage to your team and organization 
  • Testing product functionality from a user interaction perspective on multiple client platforms (i.e. iOS, Android, web), ensuring a delightful fan experience
  • Testing service layer using tools like Postman, Paw, and REST-assured
  • Utilizing debugging proxies, application performance monitoring, and machine-generated data to identify the root cause of issues
  • Contributing to the project’s test automation suites and identifying high-value opportunities to apply automation and testing tools
  • Assuming co-ownership of automation and testing tools backlog
  • Serving as a subject matter expert and coach for testing approaches
  • Demonstrating product/platform expertise to uncover design and implementation risks early in the planning and design phases

Qualifications & Skills

  • 4+ years of software testing experience and the ability to demonstrate testing and technical prowess 
  • Self-motivated, communicative, curious, proactive nature
  • Understanding of industry-standard test processes, load testing, and test automation pyramids
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
  • Eagerness to learn new things and overcome challenges
  • Experience with Playwright and JavaScript

Nice to have, but not required

  • Experience introspecting application performance using tools such as JMX and APM (e.g. DataDog) alongside comprehending code paths based on application logging, metrics, and other signals
  • Experience with SRE and SRE concepts such as error budgets, SLI/SLO, etc
  • Experience in an agile environment using processes such as Scrum, Kanban, etc
  • Experience with source code management (git, etc)
  • Experience with continuous integration (Jenkins, etc)
  • Experience with UI test frameworks (XCUITest, Espresso, Selenium, etc)
  • Experience with test tracking tools (TestRail, etc)
  • Understanding of persistence layer and ability to plan and load test data 

Salary Range: $100,000 - $125,000 (Base Salary) + Bonus

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related aspects of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills, and any other factors MLB
