Entain Australia and New Zealand is seeking a Trackside TV Producer to take the reins of our flagship thoroughbred review show, Weigh In. This is a rare opportunity in our industry; a chance to build an original flagship show from the ground up.

Weigh In is a dynamic program that showcases thoroughbred racing, and sets the tone and conversation for the sport we are and the sport we inspire to be. In collaboration with racing’s brightest minds, you will create a must-watch show that appeals to both industry veterans and potential fresh-faced fans.

Where and how you can work...

We have offices in Auckland, Wellington, Darwin, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. We value a flexible work environment and support a hybrid working model, ensuring we achieve work-life balance and individual preferences.

This role will be mostly based in our Auckland office, in the field and with some opportunities to work from home. Ability to work weekends is essential, meaning that your days off will fall on week days.

Your day-to-day...

  • Content Development: Collaborate with the editorial & presentation team to develop compelling and relevant rundowns for each episode of Weigh In.
  • Production Planning: Create detailed production plans, including script development, segment planning, guest coordination, and production schedules.
  • Team Management: Lead and inspire a team of production staff, including, editors, camera operators, and technical crew.
  • Resource Coordination: Coordinate with internal and external resources, such as studio facilities, equipment suppliers, and post-production services, to ensure that all necessary resources are available for production.
  • Control Room Producer: Provide direction and guidance to the production team during filming, ensuring that all elements of the show are executed according to the established vision and standards.
  • Field Producer: Produce compelling beautiful stories out and about in Aotearoa, highlighting the depth and significance of NZ racing.
  • Quality Control: Maintain a high level of quality and consistency throughout the production process. Review footage, scripts, and edits to ensure accuracy, relevance, and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Audience Engagement: Identify opportunities to enhance audience engagement and interaction, such as through social media integration, viewer contests, and interactive features. Incorporate these elements into the show's format.

You're a match if you ideally have...

  • A strong passion and understanding of horse racing and sports broadcasting.
  • Proven experience as a TV Producer, preferably in the sports or entertainment industry.
  • Strong creative vision and storytelling skills, with a keen understanding of audience preferences and trends.
  • The desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and manage multiple high-priority projects.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the drive to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Proficiency in production software and tools, such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, or Avid Media Composer.
