About the role
Sporty Games is recruiting for a developer who is familiar with Graphical User Interface and menu screen work in Unity. You could be a recent graduate looking for your first role in the games industry or someone who has developed and published their own games—the key is having a passion for playing and creating games and an impressive portfolio. If you are a fan of football, even better!
The ideal candidate will approach given tasks with enthusiasm as part of a project team and be able to continue GUI development on an existing project with best practices and workflow already in place.
Our focus is Android and iOS for launch, with potential for PC and consoles. Our low-end benchmark is Android low- to mid-range phones. The GUI front end you create will need to work on all of these platforms.
We are a hybrid team, based in Bournemouth on the South Coast, just two hours from London by train. The role will be hybrid, with days in the office each week so that you can collaborate closely with the team.
What you'll be doingImplementation of screen GUI and associated systems in Unity, based on Photoshop mock-ups with provided art assetsClose collaboration with the game design and production teams to implement feedback and iteration on screensParticipate in team ceremonies including Sprint planning, retrospectives and daily Scrum stand-upsWhat you'll bringGames industry experience is not required, but good Unity familiarisation is essentialIn-depth knowledge of the C# languageAn understanding of UI/UX principles and use of Unity UGUI for screen developmentExperience using Visual Studio for development, testing and debuggingThe desire to learn new methodologies and work as part of a teamFamiliarity with successful game front end flow solutionsAttention to detail when working from supplied mock-up screens and proposed animationsThe ability to work in a team and adhere to studio coding standards and development guidelinesPerseverance when working in an iterative wayAn understanding of developing one screen solution for multiple aspect ratiosA proactive approach, able to solve problems independently and suggest improvementsPositive and motivated with good communication and collaboration skills to be able to work in a fast-paced environmentWhat’s In It For You
