As a Senior User Experience Designer specializing in Automotive, you will join a visionary team committed to redefining the automotive infotainment experience. This role offers the unique opportunity to collaborate with some of the most exciting automotive brands in the world, from established luxury names to emerging electric vehicle pioneers, to craft experiences that empower them to win in a rapidly evolving landscape. As vehicle experiences continue to evolve, you will play a pivotal role in designing concepts that revolutionize how drivers engage with their vehicles, seamlessly connecting them with the entertainment they love while they drive—but also while they charge up, relax, shop, dine, and work.

This is a remote role. Occasional travel to the Bay Area may be required.

What you will do

  • Participate in a human-centered design process to create the driver experience of Gracenote’s next generation automotive solution, from concept to execution

  • Build mockups, prototypes, and high-fidelity final designs in an innovative, fast-paced environment

  • Iterate and refine design concepts based on driver research findings, automotive customer input and evolving industry trends

  • Own and iterate the design system and component library used by our engineering team to quickly build out app screens

  • Collaborate with a cross functional team of engineers and product managers to align your design solutions with both technical constraints and business goals

  • Structure and facilitate ideation sessions and workshops to bring together both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Coordinate with stakeholders to negotiate, prioritize and make trade-offs while working effectively across a broad range of teams, content verticals, technologies and processes

  • Identify and track metrics to measure the success of design solutions

**Qualifications**

The ideal candidate for this role

  • Is passionate about their craft and excited for the opportunity to design leading edge future concepts for vehicles and interfaces

  • Has design experience in entertainment display and discovery UX across movies, television, sports and music, including voice and conversational AI interaction

  • Domain knowledge across the automotive, mobility, or transportation ecosystems, with an understanding of the automotive business dynamics, industry trends and emerging technologies is a plus

  • Experience designing for automotive and having shipped design work for automotive infotainment experiences is a plus

The minimum requirements we are seeking for this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field

  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a UI/UX Designer, with a focus on automotive infotainment or a related domain

  • Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Miro and the Google Suite of tools (Docs, Slides, Sheets, etc)

Qualified applicants who are excited to join us on our mission to create extraordinary driving experiences are encouraged to apply!
