We are looking for an exceptional individual with proven experience in VAR to lead the VAR delivery in Greece.
Reporting to the Operations Manager - Greece, your role will see you manage both the operational and technical aspects of our VAR delivery in Greece. You will be collaborating with both tech and operational management to ensure the successful delivery of football projects in the region. Our VAR delivery in Greece is an integral part of our business operations, and comes with huge importance to us, our client, and their various stakeholders.
This full-time role is responsible for leading aspects of our tracking technologies to manage, implement and operate our services, as well as working with our customers to ensure the smooth delivery of VAR.
General:
Key responsibilities revolve around the planning, designing, testing, monitoring and delivery of the technical aspects of VAR delivery in Greece.;
Working with the Greece management team, ensure our VAR/SMART are implemented successfully across all matches, aligning with best practices;
Prepare and commit software releases, including necessary testing ahead of each match week;
Review feedback and tickets relating to VAR Technology following each match week and work to implement necessary changes;
Prepare, set up and oversee the VAR technical setup in the Remote Centre;
Liaise with central technical functions and other technical leads in sharing good practices and driving the quality of delivery forward;
Constantly review and monitor our software and hardware to determine whether the most optimal and efficient solution is being used;
Contribute to and take an active role in the training of staff assigned to matches, in particular the VTG role;
Take a proactive role in advancing the technical aspects of our delivery, with a view to improving operational efficiency, client satisfaction and reducing critical issues;
Co-manage the delivery of Remote Support, including staff training, match day checklists and processes, escalation management, completion of match reports, and issue reporting. This will take place either directly onsite, at a centralised location (i.e. Greece Remote Centre), or remotely.
Ensure adherence to technical standards, protocols, and best practices across the department (including business IT policies and standards)
Contribute to the technical aspects of new service sales and renewals, providing knowledge and client integration support at appropriate stages.
Serve as a trusted point of contact in the team and with other stakeholders regarding topics related to VAR, helping to build the reputation of Hawk-Eye with Greece and their associated stakeholders.
Contribute to the Greece’s Management Team’s daily functions, working as part of a collaborative approach to plan, deliver and support operations.
Contribute to the management of hardware/system design and failures. This will include necessary load testing, configuration, upgrades, maintenance, and procurement as required.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
3+ years in a VTG Role
Proactive attitude and ability to work on your initiative to lead technical operations and smaller projects
Excellent knowledge of VAR/SMART technology, both from a technical and hardware standpoint
Be reliable and forward-thinking, with evidence of furthering and improving the current technology
Ability to liaise with clients and customers in a professional and approachable manner
Ability to adapt to meet the changing direction of a demanding client.
Demonstrable experience in a time-pressured and challenging environment
Excellent communication skills, capable of building strong relationships with stakeholders at any level.
Able to find workable and pragmatic solutions to complex operational challenges
Comfortable challenging current processes or conventions to benefit the business
