Job Title: Vice President, Clinical Operations & Quality
Location: Remote, USA with preferred locations in SF Bay Area, Austin, TX, Chicago, Seattle, Denver, Atlanta, NYC or Boston, MA.
Note: The ideal and preferred candidate will have digital health experience, start-up experience, and a healthtech background. We are not as interested in health and hospital systems, medical groups, clinics, and health insurers as recent experience.

About the Role
As Vice President, Clinical Operations & Quality, you will lead Wheel’s commitment to clinical excellence, overseeing Wheel’s key processes across i) clinical program design, ii) clinical operations, and iii) clinical quality and patient safety. You will collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to integrate clinical insights into our digital platforms, ensuring scalable and safe virtual care delivery. You will be the architect of Wheel’s next phase of clinical operations—building the systems, processes, and culture that ensure safe, high-quality care at scale. As the leader of the Clinical Operations team, you’ll define key performance metrics, implement scalable workflows, and drive continuous improvement across quality, safety, and clinician experience. The ideal candidate is a strategic builder with deep clinical operations expertise, a bias for action, and a track record of collaborating across Product, Solutions, Customer Success, Sales, Network Operations, and Finance to deliver exceptional care through a modern, tech-enabled model.
What You’ll Do
Clinical Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop the Clinical Operations team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and a culture of excellence and accountability.
Set clear KPIs for clinical operations and quality, using data to drive continuous improvement and operational performance.
Foster a high-performing, mission-driven team through mentorship, structured feedback, and growth opportunities.
Serve as a cross-functional leader, collaborating with Product, Solutions, Customer Success, and Network Operations to ensure a cohesive care delivery experience.
Clinical Operations & Support
Own and scale clinical support functions to meet the needs of Wheel’s clinician network and care programs.
Oversee the operational execution of client implementations, ensuring clinical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and successful go-lives.
Act as a clinical operations escalation point for key clients and internal stakeholders, translating needs into scalable solutions.
Standardize and optimize workflows across clinical onboarding, training, and clinician support.
Quality, Safety, and Compliance
Lead the development and execution of Wheel’s clinical quality and patient safety programs, including audit frameworks, incident reporting, and continuous improvement processes.
Own the clinical regulatory strategy, including collaborative practice agreements and ongoing legal/compliance partnerships.
Proactively monitor and address clinical escalations, remediating quality concerns and reinforcing a culture of clinical accountability.
Clinical Workflows & Process Improvements
Partner with Product and Engineering to enhance tools that support clinical workflows, quality monitoring, and clinician performance.
Ensure the availability, reliability, and impact of key third-party clinical platforms and systems.
Design scalable processes that improve efficiency, reduce cost per case, and enhance clinician and patient experiences.

A practitioner with the clinical credibility and leadership presence to effectively manage licensed providers (MD,RN, PA, NP).
Salary and Perks
Pay Range is $222,000 - 304,000 plus a leadership bonus
Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
