Job Description

Responsibilities 

  • Build and generate cross-functional buy-in for the long-term vision of MLB’s culture marketing in service of enhancing MLB brand perception, increasing player visibility, converting growth audiences, and developing new business opportunities
  • Partner with Marketing Planning and Analytics to develop new target and growth audience segmentation that’s equal measures insightful and actionable; further collaborate to develop KPIs and performance measurement for all initiatives with ability to evaluate cultural relevance and penetration
  • Develop and constantly refine the culture marketing strategy through the creation of integrated platforms aligned to each major lifestyle pursuit (e.g., food, fashion, music, film) complete with annual marketing plans and tactical calendars
  • Supervise highly talented team of industry experts in the production and execution of these annual integrated platforms; generating internal support, connecting key learnings across platforms, etc.
  • Work closely with Sponsorship, Consumer Products, Events, Media, Club Marketing, and other key departments to respond to briefs or share opportunities
  • Serve as subject matter expert on all things culture while creating a company-wide tool for evaluating talent, sponsors, and partners for co-marketing activity; guiding internal departments to elevated decision-making while also utilizing professional network to facilitate agreements

Qualification & Skills 

  • Four-year degree from an accredited university in marketing, advertising, communications, business, or related field and 14+ years experience in marketing or related functional area
  • MBA preferred
  • Proven track record as a marketing leader with an acumen for creating marketing platforms and strategic partnerships at the intersection of sports and culture
  • Extensive experience representing and negotiating on behalf of high-profile brands and/or media
  • Extensive agency and vendor management experience
  • Baseball knowledge and/or experience preferred

Salary Range: $210,000 - $240,000 (Base Salary) + Bonus

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills and any other factors Major League Baseball (MLB) considers relevant to the hiring decision.
