About Pendulum
Pendulum® is leading a revolution that is occurring around the world to improve physical and mental health by first understanding, then restoring and enhancing the human microbiome.
Studies have shown that our microbiome (the bacterial communities in and on our bodies) is linked to everything from metabolism and diabetes, to longevity, weight loss, healthy immune systems, cancer prevention, feelings of well-being, inflammatory bowel disease, and even healthy skin. We have just
scratched the surface on understanding the impact that our microbiome has on our lives. During early life we develop a diverse and balanced microbiome that plays a critical role in shaping our long-term health. Over our lives, a combination of diet, lifestyle, antibiotics, and aging can decrease the effectiveness of our microbiome.
Pendulum recognized the enormous impact they could have on people’s lives if they were able to address the imbalances in the microbiome. To accomplish this, Pendulum created proprietary probiotic pipelines and a unique discovery platform to identify key, novel bacterial strains and the prebiotics that feed them. The company has also built and developed the world’s first manufacturing technology to produce bacteria in an anaerobic (oxygen-free) environment at scale.
The medical probiotics that Pendulum has formulated have transformed the consumer probiotics market into a new category of therapeutic offerings that deliver the power and efficacy of a pharmaceutical with the safety and accessibility of a natural probiotic. Due to Pendulum’s explosive revenue and customer growth over the last two years, the company earned a spot on Forbes Magazine’s exclusive “The Next Billion Dollar Startups” list.

Position Summary
Pendulum has created an entirely new product category that is foundational to the emerging field of “Healthspan” and is now changing healthcare globally. To successfully launch an all-new category based on products that offer the effectiveness of pharmaceuticals with the safety and accessibility of probiotics, Pendulum executed a two-pronged go-to-market strategy. We developed a network of doctors and registered dietitians (Healthcare Providers – HCPs) with expertise in the human microbiome who serve as trusted caregivers, driving adoption and influencing others in the field. Simultaneously, we introduced these highly-effective, medical-probiotics in the direct-to-consumer (DTC) market. This strategy has
proved to be highly synergistic, with 10% of new consumers hearing about Pendulum from their HCP, and 35% of new HCP leads coming from consumer marketing and consumers. As a result, Pendulum is going through explosive growth with exponential revenue expansion. In the next few years, we must enter the retail market, expand internationally, continue our global influence around the development of this new healthcare paradigm, and prepare for an IPO.
While Pendulum has done an excellent job of building a domestic DTC brand with key influencers like Halle Berry and HCP’s, our next steps in the business require a highly experienced, sophisticated communications executive to help lead our transformation from an enormously successful startup into a public, global leader in the Healthspan market. Table stakes include being a highly motivated, experienced PR and communications leader who has built brands, driven awareness/revenue and built out corporate narratives for category creators/disruptors. You also need to be capable of establishing global leadership in an all new disruptive category, helping to manage the perceptions of a world class board, and helping to create the vision that will drive a multi-billion dollar public offering.
You will have spent your career building the experience and skills required to help drive this explosive phase of our growth. Come join a world-class team of executives and change the world of healthcare!
