About the role
We are looking for an experienced Media Manager with a strong background in sports broadcasting to lead our production Hub in Cape Town.
This is a newly created position that will play a pivotal role in shaping our on-air content strategy, managing production teams, and developing new shows that resonate with sports audiences across Africa.
The Media Manager will need to demonstrate exceptional leadership, creativity, and organisational skills while ensuring the highest production standards are met.
What you'll be doingBuild a team of presenters, reporters, producers, and technical staff to create and direct our content strategy from South Africa with an African pan-regional approach. Lead and manage weekend production teams, ensuring seamless delivery of live and recorded showsDesign, plan, and oversee new sports programming, from concept to executionCollaborate with editorial, technical, and production departments to ensure content quality and consistencyManage workflows, schedules, and resources for weekend broadcastsProvide creative direction for sports shows, features, and special eventsMentor and guide junior staff, fostering a high-performance culture within the teamEnsure compliance with editorial standards and broadcasting regulationsWhat you'll bring5+ years of experience in sports media, broadcasting, or television productionStrong leadership and team management skillsExcellent command of English, both written and spokenProven knowledge of the South African sports media industryDemonstrated ability to create and launch engaging sports programmingStrong organisational and project management abilitiesAbility to perform under pressure in live broadcast environments
