THE POSITION

We are looking for a Director – Advanced Analytics to join our team in Customer Operations. The analyst will support stakeholders across the online sportsbook product and customer service. They will play an important role in assisting with the development of projects focused on improving the sportsbook product customer experience. They will be responsible for journey mapping, monitoring customer service contacts and KPIs to identify pain points and measure the success of product initiatives. In time, a successful analyst will be able to effectively illustrate the sportsbook player experience based on available customer data. They will use this data to provide actionable insights to relevant teams. 

THE GAME PLAN

  • Deliver analytical insights and implications through the customer lens that supports and guides strategic thinking. 
  • Leads a team of professional analysts focused on both business results as well as employee mentoring and personal growth. 
  • Develop and implement roadmap for customer experience analytics to advance customer satisfaction, segmentation, personal development, customer retention strategies, and other key business applications. 
  • Develop and implement roadmap for data products/models that power insights and customer experience delivery, working tightly with cross-functional business groups to deliver. 
  • Engage and influence C-Level executives & leaders with strategic recommendations based on customer analytics. 
  • Key leader in Voice of the Customer & Insights, supporting the integration of efforts in Customer Analytics, Data Science, Customer Research, Competitive Intelligence, Customer Service, and Advanced Analytics. 
  • Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and practices to ensure the organization promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results. 
  • Evaluate existing user journeys across all aspects of Sportsbook, including but not limited to Marketing, Product, Commercial, Engineering, Fraud and Payments.  
  • Responsible for business case development, big data analytics and/or modeling using tools (Ex. Including but not limited to Tableau, Quantum Metrics, Amazon Redshift, Amplitude, Azure, Salesforce) as well as delivery of insights. 
  • Quantifies significance of data variances, applies an array of statistical methods ranging from traditional to newly developing within the Big Data space.  
  • Work closely with Product, Commercial, Marketing, Customer Service and other teams to understand analytical and reporting requirements and turn these into tracking specifications for the development teams. 
  • Supporting the production and distribution of web data and insights across the business 
  • Responsible for strategic business recommendations through data gathering and analytics using advanced modeling techniques to predict outcomes.   
  • Familiarity with databases and tools such as Tableau, Salesforce, Amazon Redshift. 
  • Uses traditional modeling techniques to build models that support decision making. 
  • Identify gaps in data to enhance holistic storytelling of strategic initiatives and end to end customer experience journeys. 
  • Identify and/or create metrics in the pursuit of providing a differentiated view of the customer. 

THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics or another relevant discipline. Master’s degree preferred.  
  • 10+ years of experience in a Customer Experience, Sportsbook/Gaming and/or Analytical Role 
  • 6-8 years of experience in a leadership managerial role
  • Must be able to attain required regulatory Licensure(s) 
  • Expertise with SQL, Excel and Tableau (Or similar visualization tools) 
  • Ability to take on complicated problems and turn them into simple, analytical frameworks. 
  • Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. 
  • Knowledge of Sports Betting and Online Gambling platforms is a plus.

 The applicable salary range for this position is $144,000 - $198,000 USD, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.

Please note that the actual salary for this position may vary, as it is dependent on various factors including but not limited to experience, location, and market dynamics.
