Job Responsibilities : We are looking for Data & Automation Engineering Interns to support a growing set of internal agentic payment, data reporting, reconciliation, and operational intelligence workloads.

The team currently supports multiple initiatives with a small engineering group, including AI-assisted operations, ad-hoc data reporting, merchant health monitoring, fraud early detection, reconciliation automation, lakehouse migration, revenue analytics, and internal/merchant-facing chatbot systems.

This internship is focused on practical engineering support: helping the team orchestrate ad-hoc data reporting, troubleshoot production bugs, improve internal tools, validate data outputs, and assist with automation workflows.

The role is suitable for interns who want exposure to real payment systems, data pipelines, reporting workflows, and applied AI/agentic systems. outputs.

Assist with simple backend changes, SQL queries, API integration fixes, and reporting workflow improvements.

Support data extraction, transformation, and reconciliation tasks.

Help document recurring issues, operational steps, and known reporting logic.

Assist in testing internal tools, chatbot workflows, RAG knowledgebase responses, and automation scripts.

Work with engineers to improve reliability, observability, and maintainability of internal reporting workflows.

Help reduce repetitive manual work by contributing scripts, small tools, or workflow automation.

Required Skills Basic programming knowledge in at least one language such as PHP and Python Basic SQL knowledge, including joins, filtering, aggregation, and data validation.

Comfortable reading logs, debugging errors, and tracing issues across systems.

Able to work with structured data such as CSV, JSON, database tables, and API responses.

Willing to learn payment domain concepts, reconciliation flows, reporting logic, and operational workflows.

Good attention to detail, especially when handling financial or reporting data.

Able to document findings clearly and escalate issues with enough technical context.

Preferred Skills Experience with Laravel, PHP, Node.js, Python, or shell scripting.

Familiarity with dashboards, reporting tools, ETL/ELT, or data pipelines.

Exposure to Docker, Git, GitLab, CI/CD, or Linux command line.

Basic understanding of APIs, webhooks, authentication, or background jobs.

Interest in AI agents, chatbots, RAG systems, vector search, or workflow automation.

Experience with data tools such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, DuckDB, Kafka, S3, or similar technologies is a bonus.

Suitable Candidates This role is suitable for Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related students who are interested in backend engineering, data reporting, automation, AI-assisted operations, or payment systems.

The ideal candidate is careful, curious, and comfortable working on practical engineering tasks rather than only building demos.

Accuracy matters because the systems involve payment, reporting, reconciliation, and business decision support.

Internship Outcome By the end of the internship, interns are expected to have contributed to real reporting, automation, reconciliation, or bugfix tasks, with measurable improvements such as reduced manual reporting effort, faster issue investigation, cleaner documentation, improved data validation, or small production-ready tool enhancements.
