Auroch Digital is a Bristol-based videogame developer with a passion for making games that relate to and deal with real-world issues. We work on original titles, partnerships, and work-for-hire projects – specialising in strategy, retro, porting and, digital tabletop games –including Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun, Brewmaster, and Mars Horizon.
Day in the Life of an Associate Technical Director
As the Associate Technical Director, you will support the Technical Director to inform technical strategy and direction for the studio and to lead all technical aspects within our games. You will take ownership of researching delegated areas of the studio’s technological needs as well as helping to develop workflows while maintaining solid coding practices. You will attend some critical meetings, alongside the TD, and take their place and report back where needed.
You will manage and support a team of Lead Programmers, to ensure Auroch’s management style is adopted down the management line, providing technical feedback and mentorship.
What you need to do this job:
• Solid knowledge of C++ and C#
• Working knowledge of current game programming techniques
• Proven commercial leadership experience in the gaming industry as a Senior/Lead
• Experience working on games for console and PC
• Ability to think critically and apply analytical skills in resolving complex issues
• Excellent time management with the ability to delegate requests for time as appropriate
• Exceptional management and communication skills.
