Role overview:

A career at PlayStation involves collaboration with some of the most talented people in the realm of interactive and digital entertainment.  The PlayStation Studios QA team in Liverpool have an opportunity within their fast-paced team, supporting QA activities on the cutting edge of hardware and software experiences. 

As part of the “Vendor and Resource Services” team, the nature of the work typically relates to supporting our 2 core service lines.  ‘Vendor Management’ is concerned with the external partnerships that compliment and expand upon internal PlayStation Studios QA capabilities. ‘Resource Support’ relates to administration and data analysis of internal headcount that support the provision of PlayStation Studios QA services.

The Associate Vendor & Resource analyst role is primarily concerned with ‘Vendor Management’ outsourcing activities whilst supporting Resource Support as required. There is also some involvement and responsibility for assisting local team coordination activities and department projects that help the Vendor and Resource Services team maintain the excellent level of service associated with the PlayStation organisation.

What you’ll be doing:

Vendor Research and Allocation:

  • PlayStation Studios QA service requirements gathering
  • Assist when required with research, comparison and evaluation of vendor capabilities
  • Work closely with Vendor & Resource Manager to assign vendors to projects according to business needs and goals

Vendor Performance Evaluations and Reporting:

  • Assist with piloting and evaluation of new vendor's performance
  • Maintain vendor performance metrics
  • Coordinate the capture, compilation and recording of vendor performance evaluations
  • Carry out QA assessments of the bugs reported by vendors against testing guidelines and create reports of the findings to ensure accurate analysis of the testing provided
  • Provide performance evaluation feedback to vendors post project

Vendor Payment Coordination Activities:

  • Approve vendor timecards daily according to the DSRs (Daily Status Reports), liaising with Test Leads, Test Managers and Vendors as required
  • Creation of purchase requests for services received by PlayStation Studios
  • Invoice audit and processing of payment across multiple systems monthly
  • Confirmation of goods receipt for services received by PlayStation Studios
  • Ensure purchase requisitions are approved through the chain
  • Track all PO numbers raised and breakdown costs

Security Auditing and Compliance:

  • Assist when needed in virtual or in person vendor site visits, security auditing and report distribution
  • Assist Lead V&RS analyst with completion of loan and non-disclosure agreements in relation to services provided to PlayStation Studios QA

Relationship Management:

  • Assist with scheduling attendance of industry events to meet with new and existing vendors
  • Maintain records of proposed, declined, allocated and cancelled vendor workload
  • Maintain regular communication with vendors to notify of changes and capture issues
  • Assist with the resolution of any vendor related queries or issues
  • Assist with the provision of PlayStation Studios tool and process training to vendors
  • Assist with the provision of vendor utilisation training to PlayStation Studios QA Test Leads
  • Document, maintain and distribute to vendors PlayStation Studios QA requirements and guidelines

Team Coordination

  • Daily review of Vendor and Resource Services tasks
  • Weekly review of Vendor and Resource Services projects
  • Facilitate weekly internal Vendor and Resource meetings to capture updates and changes
  • Assisting with provision training to secondments and/or new starters within Vendor and Resource Services
  • Assisting department/individual projects
  • Communication with various SIE departments, studios and PlayStation Studios QA counterparts worldwide
  • Contributing to budget forecasts and updating team presentation slide by tracking and obtaining different data points

Relevant Skills, knowledge, and experience

  • Great analytical skills
  • Extreme attention to detail and ability to perform data entry with a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Strong communication skills/customer service mindset
  • Ability to work within a team, both in person and virtually
  • Positive attitude and ability to cope with changing environment
  • Comfortable in working within deadlines and timelines
  • Willingness to adapt and adopt new processes and functions
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience related to vendor management is desirable
