Job Description

Intellect is seeking an AHPRA registered Clinical Psychologist to establish and scale our clinical delivery framework in Australia. This is a foundational role for a clinician who enjoys building services. You will be a key clinical anchor for a high growth startup, shaping Australia specific systems and standards, while personally supporting high risk care across major enterprise accounts.

This role suits a psychologist who thrives in a fast paced environment and is motivated by designing and implementing high quality, AHPRA aligned clinical and operational practices from the ground up, while maintaining a hands-on clinical caseload.

  • Operational Leadership & Strategic Input: Act as the local clinical lead, providing practical clinical input to strengthen operational reliability, service quality, and continuous improvement. Build and implement Australia specific SOPs and delivery playbooks, and support the development of additional service lines as the market grows, ensuring AHPRA aligned, high fidelity care.
  • Hands-on Clinical Case Management: Lead and personally manage complex, high-risk cases end-to-end, from advanced risk assessment to reintegration, ensuring uncompromising SLA compliance and high-quality clinical reporting. Greater emphasis on users from the FIFO and mining industries
  • Crisis & Incident Command: Lead crisis deployments across Australia where required, providing onsite psychological first aid, facilitating group briefings, and delivering individual stabilisation sessions, with clear follow up pathways and escalation processes.
  • Direct Therapy Delivery: Provide evidence based in person and virtual therapy, maintaining a hands on clinical caseload aligned with Intellect clinical governance and AHPRA standards.
  • Stakeholder & Account Governance: Provide clinical account governance for major enterprise clients, liaising closely with client representatives and internal stakeholders to build trusted, strategic partnerships.

Requirements

  • Full AHPRA registration as a Clinical Psychologist.
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, with a significant history of managing complex, high-risk, or safety-critical populations.
  • Demonstrated experience in a foundational, leadership, or consulting capacity where you have been responsible for designing, establishing, or significantly overhauling clinical programs, SOPs, or service delivery models.
  • Exceptional capability in clinical case management, advanced risk assessment, and crisis intervention, with a proven ability to operate effectively under pressure.
  • Experience conducting Return to Work and Fit for Work assessments.
  • Proven ability to manage complexity within structured SOPs and strict SLAs in a corporate or EAP-style client setting.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a high level of comfort working with urgency and ambiguity in a dynamic startup environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience, with excellent communication skills to articulate clinical strategy and operational needs to both clinical and non-clinical executives.
  • Familiarity with FIFO workforces or mining contexts is highly advantageous.
