OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Construction Finance Manager to oversee and manage the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for construction and capital expenditure projects across our retail footprint. This role will serve as the primary liaison between the Finance, Real Estate, and Construction teams to ensure retail development initiatives are financially sound, compliant, and delivered on budget.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the financial budgeting and forecasting process for all construction and capital projects (e.g., new store builds, remodels, expansions, relocations, maintenance).
• Monitor project costs and provide variance analysis vs. budget and forecast.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly financial reports for senior leadership.
• Partner with construction and real estate teams to evaluate project scopes, timelines, and cost implications.
• Develop ROI models, NPV analyses, and other financial assessments for proposed retail developments.
• Track and manage capital expenditure (CapEx) budgets and forecasts.
• Implement and maintain financial controls and procedures for construction project spend.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and accounting standards (e.g., GAAP/IFRS).
• Assist with internal and external audits related to capital projects.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Legal, and Real Estate on vendor contracts, lease terms, and project financial impacts.
• Communicate clearly with operational and executive teams regarding budget status and financial risks.
• Leverage financial systems and tools to streamline reporting and enhance data visibility.
• Support technology initiatives to improve tracking of project costs and performance.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field; CPA or MBA a plus.
• 5–7+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with a focus on construction, capital projects, or real estate.
• Prior experience in retail or multi-unit development environments highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial modeling, budgeting, and capital investment analysis.
• Proficiency in Excel, financial systems (e.g., COUPA, FDM4, etc.), and project management tools.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Prefer experience with understanding of lease accounting (ASC 842), fixed asset accounting, and depreciation.
• Experience supporting new store openings or large-scale construction rollouts.
• Familiarity with construction project lifecycle and cost drivers.

The Base Salary Range for this position is $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year which represents the current range for the base salary for this exempt position. Please note that actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. As such, on occasion and when applicable, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the upper end of the range. Please also note the range listed is just one component of the Company’s total rewards package for exempt employees. Other rewards may include performance bonuses, long term incentives, a PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.
