Job Description:
Rogue Fitness is looking for an experienced and driven Controller to lead our core accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance at our global headquarters in Columbus, Ohio. Managing domestic and international operations across high-volume e-commerce, large-scale domestic manufacturing, and global supply chain logistics, the Controller plays a critical role in preserving financial integrity, cost management, and operational efficiency.
The Controller is a fully onsite role in Columbus, Ohio. Remote work is not available. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Closing: Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes. Prepare comprehensive financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
Manufacturing & Cost Accounting: Maintain accurate cost accounting systems to monitor operational expenses, product profitability, standard costs, and raw materials variance across production facilities.
Internal Controls & Compliance: Develop, implement, and enforce strong internal controls and risk management policies. Oversee tax compliance (local, state, federal, and international sales/VAT taxes) and coordinate annual external financial audits.
Team Leadership & Development: Direct and mentor accounting staff across general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable departments.
Operational Analysis: Partner with operations, inventory, and executive management to deliver actionable financial analytics that guide pricing models, capital investments, and cost reductions.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field required; CPA strongly preferred.
Experience: 8+ years of total progressive accounting experience, with at least 3–5 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller leadership role.
Industry Focus: Proven expertise within manufacturing, assembly, e-commerce, or retail/distribution environments. Deep understanding of inventory control, bill of materials (BOM), standard costing, and multi-entity accounting required.
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle) and financial reporting tools. Exceptional proficiency in MS Excel and Google Docs.
Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage teams, optimize workflows, and collaborate across cross-functional departments in a fast-paced environment.
