Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and detail-oriented Director of Finance and Accounting to oversee our organization's financial operations, accounting practices, and financial strategy. In this leadership role, you will manage the finance and accounting team, maintain financial integrity, drive budgeting and forecasting processes, and provide executive leadership with the financial insights needed to support scalable business growth.
This role is onsite at the Rogue campus in Columbus, OH and reports to the CFO.
Financial Strategy & Leadership
Partner with executive leadership to align financial strategy with long-term company goals and operational metrics.
Develop financial models, strategic forecasts, and scenario planning to evaluate business initiatives, investments, and expansion opportunities.
Serve as the primary point of contact for external partners, including auditors, tax advisors, banks, and regulatory bodies.
Oversee the international finance and accounting of foreign subsidiaries and future international expansion.
Accounting Management & Financial Reporting
Direct and oversee all financial and cost accounting functions, including AP/AR, payroll, general ledger, fixed assets, cash management, and revenue recognition.
Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes in compliance with GAAP (or IFRS).
Manage annual financial audits and tax filing preparation, maintaining clean records and internal controls.
Budgeting, Forecasting & FP&A
Lead the annual budgeting process and collaborate across departments to establish divisional budgets and performance benchmarks.
Perform variance analysis (budget vs. actual) and provide actionable recommendations to business heads to optimize spend and revenue.
Oversee cash flow forecasting and liquidity management to ensure sufficient operational funding.
Governance, Risk & Team Management
Design, implement, and enforce robust internal financial controls, policies, and procedures to mitigate risk and maintain compliance.
Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing finance and accounting team, fostering professional growth and operational efficiency.
Optimize financial systems, tech stacks (ERP), and automated workflows to increase reporting accuracy and team scalability.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s or MBA required).
Certifications: CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
Experience: 8–12+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial or senior leadership role (e.g., Controller or Finance Manager).
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks Enterprise, Workday, or SAP) and advanced financial modeling skills in Google Sheets.
Core Competencies:
In-depth knowledge of GAAP/IFRS principles, financial compliance, and internal controls.
Strong strategic thinking combined with a hands-on operational approach.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial data for non-finance stakeholders.
Strong leadership skills with a track record of developing and managing teams.
Technical knowledge of BOM, SKU and landed cost accounting concepts.
