6-month temporary contract role.
Reporting organisationally to the Director, Legal US, the Counsel, Generalist for FIFA26 will serve as a generalist and be a key member of the FIFA26 Legal team and other key individuals responsible for providing legal advice and guidance on a wide range of legal matters related to the event, including contracts, compliance, intellectual property, and regulatory issues. Further, this role will oversee legal documentation, risk assessment, and legal support for various operational aspects of the event.
Work with the Senior Legal Counsel, Generalist to provide legal advice, guidance, and support on a wide range of legal matters related to the FIFA World Cup 2026, including contracts, compliance, intellectual property, and regulatory issues.
Review, draft, and negotiate various agreements, contracts, and legal documents.
Assist in managing and protecting intellectual property rights associated with the FIFA World Cup, including trademarks, copyrights, and licensing agreements.
Conduct legal research and analysis to identify and mitigate potential legal risks and provide recommendations to stakeholders.
Support compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies, including those related to data privacy, anti-corruption, and labor regulations.
Collaborate with internal teams, external counsel, and stakeholders to address legal issues, provide guidance, and resolve disputes, litigation, or claims.
Assist in conducting due diligence on third-party relationships to ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Stay informed of changes in relevant laws, regulations, and industry practices, and provide proactive advice to ensure ongoing compliance.
Support the legal review and approval process for marketing and promotional materials, ensuring compliance with advertising standards and regulations.
Maintain accurate and organized legal documentation, contracts, and records related to the event.
Assist with developing and implementing educational materials and training programs for internal and external stakeholders.
Prepare comprehensive reports for senior management, summarizing legal challenges, legal actions, and future strategies relating to the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Enrolled in a State Bar Association in at least 1 U.S. State (Preferably Florida, New York, California, and/or Texas).
Minimum of 2 years of work experience as an associate or in-house counsel. Experience with a large-scale sports and/or entertainment organization preferred
