Voodoo is a mobile game company based in France with studios in Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Istanbul and Montreal. We design, develop and distribute worldwide fun games for everyone such as Mob Control, Collect ‘Em All, Paper.io 2, Hole.io, Helix Jump, Aquapark.io and many more (+6 billion users).

As part of our product strategy, we are excited to expand beyond the hypercasual and hybridcasual markets into the casual Match-3 space. Our mission is to release the next $1B Match 3 game, pioneering the next generation in this category. 

Role

To achieve our mission, we're launching a new casual studio and bringing on board top talent and seasoned veterans from the mobile games industry. As the Creative Director, you will report directly to the Studio GM and lead the creative development of an innovative Match3 project. Your responsibilities will include defining the long-term creative vision of the game, expanding and scaling the design team, and contributing as a co-founding member of the studio’s leadership team.


  • Define Creative Vision: Develop and communicate the long-term creative direction for the game (gameplay, meta, monetisation & economy), ensuring alignment with the studio's goals and strategy
  • Build and Lead Design Team: Develop and execute a hiring strategy for the design team that aligns with the studio's overall strategy and budget. Scale the team according to this plan and, when needed, address team requirements through external hires and outsourcing partnerships.
  • Design Ways of Working: Set up and refine design workflows, methodologies, and best practices to ensure efficiency and creativity in a new studio environment.
  • Create and Implement Testing Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive testing strategy in collaboration with the other crafts. Ensure the strategy supports timely iterations and aligns with the game’s development goals.
  • Coordinate with Growth Team: Partner with the growth and marketing teams to align design iterations with marketability strategies and optimize the game's appeal.
  • Manage Timelines and Resources: Oversee design budgets and schedules to meet project milestones and deliverables effectively.
