We are Kaizen Gaming

We are a diverse team of more than 2,200 Kaizeners, from 40+ nationalities spreading across 3 continents. Our #oneteam is proud to be among the Best Workplaces in Europe and certified Great Place to Work across our offices. Here, there’ll be no average day for you. Ready to press play on potential?

What’s in it for you

We are looking for a Technical DSS Team Lead to join our newly formed Data Self Service (DSS) department. This function is the first line of support between business stakeholders and the BI department, designed to streamline requests, promote self-service, and accelerate delivery of insights.

As the Technical DSS Team Lead, you will oversee the technical operations and infrastructure side of DSS, ensuring smooth access management, troubleshooting, and the development of scalable reusable solutions. You will also mentor analysts, collaborate with the Business DSS Team Lead, and act as the key link between DSS and BI/Data Engineering for technical issues.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technical puzzles, building reliable infrastructure, and enabling analysts and stakeholders to get the most out of our data ecosystem.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and mentor the Technical DSS Analyst team, ensuring high-quality technical delivery and personal development;
  • Manage issue resolution, infrastructure requests and troubleshooting of Databricks and other environments, ensuring continuity and reliability;
  • Contribute hands-on with SQL, Databricks notebooks, and automation workflows;
  • Build and maintain the DSS “solutions arsenal” — a library of reusable code, templates, and parameterized notebooks;
  • Collaborate closely with the Business DSS Team Lead to ensure smooth request triaging and alignment between business and technical streams;
  • Act as an escalation point for complex or ambiguous stakeholder requests, deciding what can be handled within DSS vs. routed to Core BI/Data Engineering;
  • Promote and oversee automation initiatives (e.g., scheduled jobs, self-service tools, reusable workflows);
  • Ensure consistency and alignment in metrics, definitions, and methodologies across DSS and Core BI;
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering and Platform teams on performance, governance, and infrastructure best practices;
  • Maintain structured documentation and clear processes for issue tracking, escalation, and resolution.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Analytics, or a related quantitative/technical field;
  • Strong expertise in SQL and Databricks notebooks;
  • Experience with Python for data analysis, automation, or workflow optimization;
  • Understanding of data automation, governance, and issue resolution processes;
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with ability to resolve performance, access, and integration issues;
  • Experience managing or mentoring analysts in a technical environment;
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to bridge technical teams and business-facing functions;
  • Strategic mindset with ability to balance quick tactical fixes and long-term scalability;
  • Fluent in English.

Nice to have

  • Previous leadership experience in self-service analytics or BI support teams;
  • Experience with Genie or other LLM-powered data exploration tools;
  • Familiarity with version control (Git), monitoring tools, and workflow orchestration;
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices;
  • Previous experience in the gaming, betting, or consumer-tech industry.

Why join us

As a Technical DSS Team Lead, you will play a critical role in shaping how Kaizen Gaming delivers data access and self-service at scale. You’ll sit at the intersection of BI, Engineering, and business teams, ensuring that technical foundations are strong, scalable, and reliable — while mentoring a high-performing analyst team to expand their skills and impact.
