The opportunity 

We look for a visionary Director of Brand & Community to report directly to our CEO. This is an extraordinary opportunity to shape the next chapter of an already immensely strong brand. As we enjoy incredible brand equity and awareness – particularly in our home market of Germany – you won't be starting from zero. Instead, you will inherit a premium, high-performing base to steer our consumer brand into its next major iteration: moving toward a broader, lifestyle and community-driven positioning.

A core focus of this role will be emphasizing the "Club" in Urban Sports Club. We are a community-driven concept, not just a utility app for solo check-ins. In this hybrid role, you will sit firmly on both the strategic/conceptual side and the operational frontlines. You will champion the evolution of the brand to maximize consumer appeal, while simultaneously developing and executing the concrete marketing strategies that bring our community vision to life. Your most exciting challenge? Internationalization – translating our proven local formula into scalable, culturally resonant consumer strategies for diverse international markets.

What You Will Do

• Drive Brand Evolution: Architect the long-term conceptual development and narrative of Urban Sports Club, pivoting the brand toward a holistic, community-centric consumer lifestyle identity. You’ll define the brand positioning, value propositions, messaging frameworks and audience strategies in collaboration with our Strategy team.
• Strengthen the "Club": Ensure campaigns and activations reinforce the community aspect of our brand, creating emotional connections that highlight shared experiences and lifestyle rather than just functional access. We see community as driving both new member acquisition as well as member engagement.
• Balance Strategy & Execution: Own the brand marketing strategy end-to-end, steering its execution across multi-channel campaigns, PR, Content, and Social Media.
• Lead Internationalization: Translate, adapt, and scale the core brand strategy across international B2C markets, balancing global consistency with deep local cultural relevance.
• Steer the Creative Studio & Teams: Oversee and mentor our multi-disciplinary brand teams and internal creative studio, fostering innovation, efficiency, and high-impact creative excellence.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the primary strategic brand stakeholder across the organization, collaborating closely with all marketing leaders to align brand priorities with business objectives.
• Insights & Budget Management: Efficiently manage the global brand budget while monitoring key health metrics (awareness, sentiment, share of voice) to turn consumer insights into optimized campaign performance.

What you will need to succeed

• 10+ years of experience leading brand management, marketing, or integrated communications, ideally within lifestyle, community or fast-paced B2C consumer industries.
• Proven track record of developing scalable international brand strategies and managing large-scale, multi-channel campaigns.
• Strategic & Execution Hybrid Mindset: Ability to alternate seamlessly between high-level conceptual brand building and concrete, hands-on campaign delivery.
• Community-First Approach: A strong understanding of consumer brand positioning, audience engagement, and culturally relevant storytelling that builds community.
• Exceptional Leadership: Strong experience leading cross-functional creative teams, PR specialists, and content creators, alongside managing external agencies.
• Analytical & Financial Rigor: A data-driven approach to tracking brand performance metrics, translating market research into action, and managing complex global budgets.
• Language Proficiency: Full fluency in English is required; German language skills are a significant plus.
