We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Director, Business Affairs – On-Air Talent to provide comprehensive support for the NFL Media On-Air Talent Department. This role will be based at the NFL’s Los Angeles campus and will support the On-Air Talent Office by, among other things, managing the Talent Contract life cycle, supporting the execution of the Talent Strategy, and acting as a key liaison for Agents/Agencies. The Director, Business Affairs – On-Air Talent will report to the Vice President of Talent Management - On-Air Talent and frequently will communicate and collaborate with other internal teams and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with VP, Talent Management - On-Air Talent to aid in negotiating talent contracts for new talent and renewals
  • Support Agent & Agency relationships including communicating to agents, sending agreements, and acting as first point of contact for new agents
  • Support overall Talent strategy (pipeline management, contract renewal process, budget tracking, etc)
  • In partnership with Counsel, review and provide strategic guidance for contracts, amendments and other legal documents.
  • Manage Talent Contract life-cycle including monitoring expiration dates, option deadlines, electronic signature & approval process
  • Additional tasks as assigned and directed

 

Required Qualifications

  • Degree from accredited law school and valid member in good standing of a state bar.
  • 5+ years of corporate/transactional law experience, including relevant areas such as: sports, entertainment
  • Strong legal drafting, research and negotiating skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and organization skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience at a highly regarded law firm.
  • Experience with sports & entertainment law.
  • Experience with Talent Agents/Agencies.

  • Sound judgment and decision-making ability.
  • Collaborative and personable, with a “team-first” mentality.
  • Ability to multi-task among multiple high priority matters and meet tight deadlines.

Travel

  • Limited travel.

Terms / Expected Hours of Work

  • NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week
  • This position will require work in excess of 40 hours per week and availability as needed for time-sensitive matter

Salary / Pay Range

The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range. 

 

Salary
$140,000$180,000 USD
