Position Description  Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, the Director, Development Operations will build a team of tat minimum two operations staff during a period of department growth. This new role will have the opportunity to envision and build data-informed strategy, including conceptualizing solutions and standardizing practices. They will be responsible for refining best practices for a robust, evolving fundraising program, reimagining processes and solutions as programs and activities expand, and collaborating across departments in all areas of data and CRM management. They will ensure the timely, reliable, and thoughtful practices on which the entire department relies, in an environment with both annual and campaign fundraising goals. The Director will be a leader in efforts to expand an institution-wide focus on philanthropy. Primary Responsibilities Lead a comprehensive and meticulous approach to development operations, data, and analytics including oversight of team in daily operations including gift processing, financial reporting, database management, analytics, recognition tracking and crediting, data hygiene, benefit fulfillment, and prospect research Partner with Chief Advancement Officer and other department leadership to understand department strategies and needs, and translate to effective, proactive data and operational procedures Develop best practices around data governance, standardization, and management of healthy data records for reporting and analysis, and ensure compliance, engagement, and information exchange in Salesforce with adherence to IRS, GDPR, and FASB standards As an expert user and administrator of Salesforce, develop a robust CRM strategy for department use in new, shared environment and advocate for department needs and best practices in institution-wide technology projects led by IT Oversee contributed revenue accounting—including recordkeeping, reconciliation, and analysis—and department expense tracking, and partner with Finance and Accounting teams to devise new strategies for increased accuracy across development revenue and expenses, accrual accounting methods, and endowment management and stewardship Optimize department and cross-department data reporting and analytics to provide ongoing insights to maximize fundraising efforts through data-informed approaches In partnership with IT, oversee database maintenance, cleanup, and technical issue resolution for department Develop prospect management strategies and integrate into regular department business, working collaboratively with front-line fundraisers and premium membership team to enhance discovery and qualification processes, build balanced portfolios, support strategic pipeline efforts, and meet event preparation needs Facilitate and manage development-related concierge ticketing efforts in partnership with major gifts, and premium memberships and annual fund teams Build and manage development operations team, including developing metrics for performance measurement and supporting team growth and success  Conduct operations team meetings and oversee strategic efforts  Promote a culture of philanthropy across federation staff, stakeholders, and across entire organization Support overall goals of the development team Other duties as assigned Requirements Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field required Minimum 8+ years of experience in development operations Minimum 3+ years of experience managing a team of development operations  Superior interpersonal, listening, and relationship-building skills Expert knowledge of Salesforce required Experience scaling fundraising operations activity valued Experience in sports nonprofit environment valued General knowledge of soccer Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook) U.S. Soccer is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion, and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, citizenship, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, genetic information, military status, political belief, or any other characteristic protected under the law.
