Core Strategic Responsibilities

1. Regional Governance & Leadership

  • Strategic Operational Ownership: Navigate the complexities of the SE Asia market with an owner’s mindset, proactively identifying friction points and engineering self-sustaining solutions; drive regional growth with high autonomy, ensuring that all systems built today are scalable, fiscally responsible, and aligned with Selkirk’s long-term global vision.Strategic Scaling: Design and implement robust processes that enable the Asia region to scale in alignment with Selkirk’s rapid global growth while capturing local nuances.
  • Systems Architecture & Process Optimization: Design, implement, and refine the operational frameworks and project management workflows that enable strategic scaling.
  • Cultural Ambassadorship: Act as the primary conduit for Selkirk’s corporate culture, ensuring regional teams (Sales, CX, and Support) are unified under the brand’s core values.Executive Liaison: Serve as the critical link between SE Asia and US-based leadership (Co-CEO/VP of Ops), providing real-time decision-making and high-level reporting.

2. Operational Liaison

  • Supply Chain & 3PL: In cooperation with the VP of Supply Chain & Operations, provide general oversight for regional logistics, factory coordination, 2nd Tier Supply Chain and 3PL providers to ensure seamless inventory flow and fulfillment excellence.Program & Sponsorship: In support of the SE Asia Marketing team, help drive the systems, processes, tools, logistics, and operational support for Selkirk’s SE Asian player and organizational sponsorships ensuring the Marketing team can operationally execute on initiatives.
  • Accounting & Regulatory Oversight: In cooperation with the CFO and Asia finance manager, provide general support ensuring local teams have the necessary infrastructure and support. Act as the primary liaison for regional compliance matters, overseeing the procurement and maintenance of essential company documentation, business certifications, and legal filings required for seamless cross-border operations.
  • AI and Automated Process Development: Spearhead the adoption of AI-enhanced workflows within Asia operations to maximize regional efficiency; leverage successful local implementations to consult with and lead the deployment of AI-driven process improvements for USA HQ, ensuring a unified and technologically advanced global operating standard.

3. Functional Management

  • Cross-Departmental Management & Synergy: Provide strategic direction and oversight for regional Customer Service and Sales Manager and for the Malaysian Office Manager and Business Tools Developer to ensure peak operational health, brand alignment, and high quality reputation.Regional Launch Orchestration: Lead the end-to-end operational readiness for all product launches within the Asian market. IT & Systems Integrity: In cooperation with the Business Tools Developer and US based Digital Solutions Team, ensure that internal systems and digital infrastructures are localized, secure, and capable of supporting regional expansion.
  • Extended Workforce Management: Build and lead a high-performance "Extended Workforce" hub in Malaysia designed as a strategic extension of domestic operations; manage local specialists who provide critical support to USA HQ, ensuring seamless 24/7 continuity across Customer Experience, Digital Solutions, and Business Operations.
  • Resource Optimization: In cooperation with the Malaysian Office Manager and HR team, provide leadership to monitor and ensure high level employee performance for organizational stability and long-term ROI.
  • Crisis Intervention: Act as the first point of escalation for SE Asian operational roadblocks, providing decisive solutions for complex logistical or administrative challenges by serving as liaison between HQ, Estonia, and Malaysia.

This candidate must possess a "builder" mindset, demonstrating a proven track record of designing end-to-end operational systems that eliminate friction, ensure quality control, and remain resilient during periods of rapid international expansion.
  • Regional Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration: A dedicated leader capable of managing diverse local teams within the SE Asia region. This candidate must excel at fostering a high-accountability culture that mirrors Selkirk’s domestic standards while respecting local nuances. Beyond direct regional management, they must be a skilled collaborator, working seamlessly with US-based global teams and managers to ensure regional operations remain synchronized with the company’s broader strategic goals and KPIs.
  • Tech Savvy: High proficiency in navigating and implementing modern enterprise tools, including ERP systems, project management software, and e-commerce marketplace platforms. The candidate must understand how data flows between departments (Logistics, Accounting, and IT) and possess the technical aptitude to troubleshoot system gaps or integrate new regional software solutions.
  • Decision-Making - Strategic & Real-Time Agility: The ability to act as a decisive proxy for the Co-CEO and/or VP of Operations within the bounds of Selkirk’s decision matrix. This involves exercising sound judgment under pressure, synthesizing complex data to solve "on-the-ground" roadblocks, and balancing short-term tactical interventions with the long-term strategic interests of the brand.

Required:

  • Professional Background: 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations and business management, specifically within South East Asian markets.
  • Sector Experience: Proven experience scaling operations within consumer goods, sporting goods, or related industries.
  • Process Management: Demonstrated success managing multi-department projects, processes, continuous improvement methodologies, KPIs, and operational performance metrics.
  • Technical Literacy: High-level proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, etc.), project management tools (Asana, Monday.com), logistics platforms, and digital operational tools.
  • Educational Foundation: Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • Linguistic/Cultural Ability: Fluency in English is mandatory; professional working proficiency in other regional languages is highly valued for managing local vendors and compliance.

Preferred:

  • Degree: MBA or advanced degree in Operations or Business.
  • Supply Chain: Solid grasp and understanding of 3PL relationships, international freight forwarding, and last-mile logistics in complex regulatory environments.
  • Background in sports, outdoor, or active lifestyle brands.
