ABOUT THE ROLE

Peloton, a leading global fitness company with a highly engaged community of millions of Members globally, is looking for a passionate and energetic communications leader to lead and grow the brand’s communications programmes across Australia, a growing and strategic market. This role requires strong experience and expertise in communications with an emphasis on strategic brand communications, integrated campaign planning and execution, consumer and corporate communications, and executive visibility. The Director of Communications works closely with the Senior Director of International Communications, the Global Communications team, and the local Australian leadership team to drive growth, shape the local brand narrative, as well as innovate brand and communications initiatives and campaigns.  The ideal candidate will have experience working in high growth environments and has held a director-level communications leadership role within an organization.  

Full time role, 3 days a week at Sydney HQ.

YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON:  

  • Lead on developing cut through initiatives and campaigns that drive growth and differentiate Peloton, spanning brand, product and corporate reputation 
  • An active member of the Australian leadership team ensuring that communications strategies and activities support local commercial and brand objectives
  • Delivery of strategic and tactical plans that factor in cultural, fitness and technology trends to position Peloton locally; devises compelling narrative that show Peloton’s leadership in consumer technology and brand relevance in Australia 
  • Works in partnership with the Global Comms team and Sr. Director of International Comms on local issues management including communications plans, reactive messaging, and senior stakeholder approval 
  • Partners with Peloton’s AU Managing Director to extract and prioritize business goals and devise communications strategies to support; serves as a local counselor to management team on issues management; authors all critical content  
  • Leads local PR agency team, responsible for agency partnership, performance and accountability 
  • Interfaces with Australia’s Marketing and Peloton for Business teams to set direction for cultural moments and integrated campaigns, including seasonal campaigns; determines prioritization, applicability and local strategy for global campaigns and initiatives 
  • Develops and leads local partnerships to determine appropriate communications strategies and tactics to scale partnerships and drive impact among existing and potential Members
  • Works in strong partnership with the local MD to internally communicate local business priorities, initiatives and results 

YOU BRING TO PELOTON:  

  • Expertise and experience in brand communications in the Australian market 
  • Proven functional leadership capabilities and delivery of high impact communications programmes and initiatives focused on driving growth 
  • Experience in building proactive communications and storytelling programmes
  • Solid relationships with media and proven ability to build relationships as needed
  • Comfortable working in a matrixed environment 
  • Ability to operate at a strategic level while managing operational aspects of a communication programme
