YOUR ROLE

As the Director of Retail (DoR) at Stio you will oversee the growth, performance and ongoing operations of the company’s owned brick-and-mortar sales channel.

Your primary goal is to ensure the smooth operations of all existing Stio Mountain Studio™ retail stores and the achievement of all reasonable retail channel revenue and profitability goals. You will also be responsible for creating Stio’s retail growth strategy, identifying new markets, managing lease negotiations and build-outs, securing staff and launching new stores and markets with very low deviation from agreed financial plans. Furthermore, in addition to overseeing a Central Retail team of four and taking responsibility for the performance of the channel, you will be a key contributor to the overall GTM process and a cross-functional partner to our Product, Planning, Finance, Marketing, Operations and E-Commerce teams.

The DoR reports to the Vice President of DTC.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creation of channel and store-level revenue, operating expense and profitability forecasts
  • Management of monthly channel budgets and oversight of store-level budgets and reporting
  • Inspirational leadership and support of the retail store managers (RSMs) and teams
  • Creation and implementation of channel / store growth strategies
  • Leadership in identifying new markets with brokers and negotiating leases
  • Operational management of real estate assets, design processes and construction partners
  • Development and execution on channel merchandising strategy
  • Meaningful contributions to the company GTM process

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or greater
  • 8+ years in retail store management
  • 3+ years overseeing 5+ storefronts in a channel
  • Material experience in retail channel expansion and, new market development
  • Excellent communication, strategic thinking and analysis skills
  • Effective with Microsoft Office and Google products
  • The DoR is a self-starter with exceptional organizational and leadership skills and expertise in brick-and-mortar retail operations.
  • You are an outstanding manager of people with strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of getting the best out of direct reports with a wide array of experience and abilities.
  • You have an aptitude for decision making, problem-solving and analytics.
  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset and relish the opportunity to grow the retail channel at Stio.

We provide competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives and benefits. The base salary range for this role is $100,000-$160,000. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of the range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors including experience, skills, and qualifications.
