We employ more than 1,700 people across our headquarters in Santa Ana, CA and offices in Jersey City, Seattle, Nova Scotia, Hong Kong, Paris, Shanghai, and Tokyo.

We’re looking for an Employee and Labor Relations Partner to join our People team. You’ll partner with the Director of Employee Relations to build and manage our employee and labor relations programs. This includes establishing policies, managing and resolving complex employee relations issues, performance management and providing guidance on disciplinary processes.  The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of federal labor laws, organizing and employee dissension, proactive employee engagement, and company policies to effectively mediate and resolve disputes and promote fair labor practices. You’ll work closely with management and other People team members to ensure that employee issues are addressed promptly and effectively, and that the organization maintains a positive and productive work environment.

You’ll report to the Director of Employee Relations and work on-site at our Jersey City, NJ office.

What You’ll Do:

  • Investigate and manage complex employee relations issues, including harassment, discrimination, policy violations, unethical or illegal conduct and workplace conflict.
  • Engage leadership with trends, practices and action plans to resolve employee concerns.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to employee and labor relations and ensure compliance with state and federal legal requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees regarding employee and labor relations matters.
  • Conduct training for managers and employees on topics related to employee and labor relations, such as conflict resolution, harassment prevention, empathy and employee motivation concern.
  • Conduct training and workshops to educate employees and supervisors on labor relations principles, rights and responsibilities. 
  • Collaborate with HR business partners, legal counsel, and other stakeholders to ensure consistent and fair resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of employee and labor relations cases.
  • Analyze trends and identify areas for improvement in employee and labor relations policies and practices.
  • Conducts exit interviews, summarizes findings, and discusses trends and concerns with senior management.
  • Provide proactive guidance as the company explores new business ventures and locations.
  • Support the development of an inclusive and positive workplace culture.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred not required).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in employee relations, HR frontline facing or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in labor relations, preferably in a unionized or active organizing environment.
  • Experience supporting Operations, Product, Tech and Corporate role teams.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, particularly those related to discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
  • Thorough knowledge of labor laws, collective bargaining practices, and employment regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and influencing skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Experience conducting workplace investigations and providing guidance to managers and employees.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR) (preferred not required).
  • Experience working in a large, complex and remote organization (preferred not required). 

Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $86,053 - $139,710. Actual compensation on this range varies based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, experience, and skill set.
