An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Ansty Golf Club, part of the Get Golfing CIO group. The position of Golf Course Host/Starter is a part time role to help us engage with our golfers as a host to make sure they enjoy their game and help keep the pace of play to its expected pace.

The Golf Course Host/Starter will make sure golfers greeted on the first tee by a friendly face to explain the course etiquettes, updates on course conditions and to answer any questions the customers have before playing to make sure they are all ready to go. When they ready to go, the host/start will ensure golfers are teeing off on time and intervals between tee times is adhered to. This role will be based outdoors and will be engaging with customers every day.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet all golfers with a smile and friendly manner.
• Act as a host to the course making all golfers feel welcome.
• Host golf days and societies to ensure they have everything they need to have a great day.
• Ensure Golfers are aware of the club’s local rules and course etiquette (we are very relaxed and friendly).
• Ensure Golfers have everything they need before starting their game. Be able to upsell any products the club sells to customers who need them.
• Ensure Golfers understand any changes to course conditions before they play.
• Ensure Golfers tee off on time and keep the correct time gap from the group in front.
• Liaise with the Golf Operation staff on check in when required for no shows or golfers running late.
• Ensure the pace of play for all groups is as expected by using a buggy to marshall the course when appropriate.

The Person:

• Polite, well-mannered, and punctual
• Able to engage with customers to relay information with a positive and happy attitude.
• Enjoy working outside.
• Ideally candidates will be able to use a Tablet PC device (training available)
• Ideally candidates will have a good knowledge on Golf and hold a valid UK driving license.

Experience:

• Experience playing or working in golf (preferred)
