The Graphics Operator is responsible for creating accurate and visually appealing race day graphics across media channels, including Trackside or one of our magazine shows. This role ensures that race information is presented clearly and attractively, enhancing viewer experience and driving engagement, while also supporting wagering turnover. The operator contributes to both entertainment value and the commercial success of the broadcast by maintaining high standards for graphic quality and consistency.

Where and how you can work...

We have offices in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Sydney, and Brisbane, to name a few! This role will be based in our dedicated control rooms in Auckland.

In the Broadcasting team, every moment is critical. You'll need to thrive in a dynamic environment and be flexible across the week including weekdays, weekends, some public holidays, and possible late nights.

Your day-to-day...

  • Compile all relevant daily information into graphics systems before the on-air broadcast.
  • Check and correct all data to ensure accuracy prior to airing.
  • Ensure graphics are error-free, visually appealing, and meet Entain’s broadcasting standards.
  • Provide accurate and reliable information for Trackside viewers watching live racing or one of our magazine shows.
  • Display and update all scripted graphics during live programming, in coordination with the Studio Director & Producers.
  • Match runner numbers with the order of horses during live races.
  • Provide provisional race results for both horse and greyhound races as they conclude.
  • Develop and implement actions that enhance customer engagement and contribute to a visually exciting broadcast.

You're a match if you ideally have...

  • A relevant Broadcast or Media qualification would be preferred.
  • Experience in a Broadcast TV environment is desirable, providing understanding and insight into live operations.
  • Strong computer skills are essential for using graphics systems and software, especially Viz Trio experience.
  • Knowledge and interest in racing are beneficial for creating accurate race graphics.
  • Effective communication skills are important for collaborating with team members during broadcasts.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail is crucial to ensure graphics are accurate and meet standards.
