The Group Internal Audit and Risk Manager (m/f/x) runs, designs, develops and implements the Group’s internal audit and risk management program and monitors the enterprise risk management framework.
As Group Internal Audit and Risk Manager (m/f/x) you are responsible for providing independent and objective assurance as to the effectiveness of the organization’s risk management, governance and internal control frameworks. You are also accountable for undertaking internal audits and risk management activities as outlined within the Group Internal Audit plan or requested by management and other ad hoc audits. To ensure the effectiveness of the function, you develop, champion and promote successful internal controls and risk governance throughout the group.

Your playing field
- You undertake internal audit and risk management activity in accordance with the overall methodology, quality and audit standards, processes and timeframes in order to ensure compliance with the relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Your responsibilities include planning, organizing and conducting internal audits and risk management activity in accordance with audit standards.
- You will be participating in the annual audit planning process and analyze the results of internal audit and risk management work, discussing relevant findings with the Directors and Senior management.
- You prepare and finalize high quality, value-adding and commercially focused internal audit and risk management reports identifying areas of deficiency and providing clear and concise recommendations including specifying implementation timings.
- You develop strong working relationships with key business stakeholders, including first- and second-line assurance functions.
- You will be undertaking risk management workshops with business functions as necessary.
- You ensure to maintain the Group's business risk register and to support risk owners in utilizing the Group risk management tool effectively.
Which skills should you bring to the pitch
- Education. You are holding a Bachelor’ or Masters’ degree in business administration, accounting, economics or similar.
- Additional Qualification. Holding an additional qualification like a CIA, ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CISA and/ or having an MGA/ MFSA approval are highly beneficial.
- Expertise. You have prior experience working in internal audit and risk management, ideally in the areas of iGaming, sportsbook, online casino, financial services, or payments. Herewith, you have an in-depth expertise and comprehensive understanding of internal auditing theory and practice.
- Language skills. English is the official language in our Malta office, therefore fluent English language skills are essential. As the #1 sportsbetting provider in Germany, German language skills are desirable but not essential.
- Committee. In previous roles, you have set up or participated in Audit or Risk Committees.
- Systems & Processes. You possess profound understanding of accounting, controlling, management systems and processes as well as of data analysis and analytical reviews.
- Analytical skills. You have excellent business and commercial acumen and big picture view paired with high attention to detail. Your analytical skills are therefore on high level.
- Resilience. You are not deterred by being challenged by colleagues, but you are also confident in your skills to challenge colleagues where it is appropriate.
- Self-motivated & hands-on. You take ownership for your work and approach tasks with a can-do attitude.
- Travel. Working as Group Internal Auditor and Risk Manager, occasional traveling will be required to our offices in Germany, Croatia, Gibraltar and Austria.
