POSITION SUMMARY

The Head Goalkeeper Coach for LAFC 2 of MLS Next Pro will oversee the planning and administration of all aspects of the LAFC 2 Goalkeepers. In addition, this role aids in the development of all LAFC goalkeepers, serving as a role model and positive image for Los Angeles Football Club.  

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to; recruitment and retention of qualified goalkeepers; teaching, training and skill development; game day coaching of the goalkeepers; goalkeeping video sessions and video editing; scheduling training sessions, traveling with the team, and equipment management. The Head Goalkeeper Coach – LAFC 2 will be expected to adhere to all guidelines and regulations set forth by MLS Next Pro and Los Angeles Football Club.

This position reports to the Head Coach – LAFC 2.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Oversee all aspects of LAFC 2 goalkeeping development.   
  • Implement effective practice and game plans utilizing LAFC curriculum. 
  • Identify, assess, and recruit prospective goalkeepers. 
  • Create, implement, and oversee individual player development plans and scouting reports.  
  • Participate in public relations and marketing for Los Angeles Football Club. 
  • Ensure all appropriate safety guidelines and standards are maintained during training, practice, and games. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience with coaching competitive soccer goalkeeping and recruitment of qualified goalkeepers required. 
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to be insured to drive vehicles required. 
  • Experience managing a coaching staff and team members effectively. 
  • USSF Coaching License preferred. 
  • Knowledge of and ability to follow LAFC/MLS Next Pro policies and procedures.  
  • Knowledge of MLS, MLS Next Pro, and MLS Next Level soccer. 
  • Previous experience in preparing, monitoring, and maintaining budgets.  
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and to relate to others in a professional manner.  
  • Proactive approach to task execution and personal development. 
  • Ability to build and maintain working relationships with peers, clients, families, elite athletes, and others encountered throughout course of employment. 
  • Ability to always maintain composure and respectful demeanor. 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. 
  • Working knowledge of video analysis platforms including Hudl Sportscode and Wyscout. 
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. 
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus. 

SALARY RANGE 

At LAFC, we carefully consider a wide range of factors to determine a fair and equitable compensation package. The final offer amount will consider a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to skill sets; relevant experience and training. Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure guidelines, the overall range for this role is up to $70,000 per year.
