Head of Golf Retail

Get Golfing CIO, one of the UK’s fastest-growing golf and hospitality operators, is looking for a Head of Golf Retail to oversee the entire retail operation of currently 13 golf clubs check in areas and the Online Pro Shop.

Get Golfing venues are seen as community hubs, engaging and supporting local people and businesses through a range of activities and initiatives. Our approach of high quality golf in a welcoming and relaxing environment is key to our success.

As the Head of Golf Retail, you will lead the retail initiatives at our clubs and on the online shop, ensuring an exceptional customer experience and capitalising on commercial growth opportunities. You will work closely with the leading golf manufacturers buying and managing golf stock for the online shop as well as with the team of Golf Operations Managers, driving the day-to-day success of our retail operations. This role demands a proactive leader who thrives on customer interaction, innovation, and strategic revenue generation.

Requirements

You will need:  

• A genuine passion for golf.

• Hold a current driver’s license.

• Enthusiasm for sales and ability to build relationships with manufacturers and customers.

• Strong work ethic and an understanding of the demands of golf retail. 

• Excellent communication and organisation skills.

• Ideally Proficient with Hubspot CRM, Woo Commerce, EposNow, Golf Manager

Key Responsibilities:

1.      Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor a team of Golf Operations Managers.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Provide ongoing training and development to ensure team excellence.

2.     Customer Experience:

  • Ensure an industry-leading retail experience for all customers.
  • Engage with customers regularly to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Implement customer feedback to continually improve the retail offering.
  • Retail Point of Sale Growth

3.     Commercial Growth:

  • Identify and exploit commercial opportunities for revenue growth.
  • Develop and execute innovative strategies to drive sales and profitability.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to stay ahead of the curve.

4.    Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee day-to-day retail operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage inventory, merchandising, and product assortments to meet customer demand.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

5.     Strategic Planning:

  • Collaborate with the Sales Director of Golf to develop long-term retail strategies.
  • Set and achieve ambitious sales targets and KPIs.
  • Ordering & Stock control
  • Internal stock movements and transportation
  • Overall P&L responsibility for online and in venue retail
  • Responsibility for online and venue retail marketing plan

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop the teams.
  • Customer Focus: Strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Commercial Acumen: Ability to identify and act on commercial opportunities.
  • Innovation: Creative thinker with a passion for exploring new ideas.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience: Previous experience in retail management, preferably within the golf industry.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel across various club locations as needed.
