Lucra is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Legal & Compliance to lead and manage all legal and compliance matters for the organization. This is a high-visibility role that requires a seasoned legal professional with a deep understanding of corporate, regulatory, contract and intellectual property law, particularly within the B2B SaaS technology and gaming industries. The ideal candidate will serve as a strategic advisor to the executive team, ensuring Lucra's operations are fully compliant with applicable laws and regulations while supporting our rapid growth and innovation.
The Head of Legal will report directly to the CEO, Dylan Robbins, and work closely with all departments to provide legal counsel, manage risk, and help shape the legal and regulatory framework for Lucra’s cutting-edge offerings.
Provide strategic legal counsel to the executive team, advising on legal risks, business strategies, and compliance matters.
Lead and manage all legal and regulatory affairs, including corporate governance, contract negotiations, and intellectual property.
Oversee compliance with gaming and financial regulations, ensuring Lucra operates within all applicable laws and standards.
Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including licensing, partnership, employment, and vendor contracts.
Develop and implement legal strategies to protect Lucra’s proprietary technology and intellectual property.
Monitor evolving laws and regulations in technology, gaming, and fintech industries and proactively ensure the company is aligned with all changes.
Manage external legal counsels and ensure effective use of resources for specialized legal needs.
Support fundraising, corporate development, and expansion initiatives by advising on relevant legal and regulatory considerations.
J.D. degree from an accredited law school; licensed to practice law in the United States.
3+ years of experience in a corporate legal role, with a strong preference for candidates with experience in technology, gaming, or fintech sectors.
Expertise in contract law, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.
Proven ability to manage legal risks and provide practical solutions in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Strong negotiation skills and experience working with cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
Thrives in a startup environment, demonstrating adaptability and proactive problem-solving.
Has exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Is a strategic thinker who can anticipate legal issues and recommend appropriate courses of action.
Brings energy, professionalism, and a team-oriented approach to their work.
Will have demonstrated the ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly & effectively at all levels of the organization (including executive and C-suite level)
