Every ride, every sensor reading, every sound cue, and every piece of equipment shapes the workout experience. The physical environment inside our gyms is part of the product — and it needs to work perfectly, every single time.

To scale to 1,000+ bikes and 60+ locations, we are looking for a senior execution leader who ensures that everything inside our gyms simply works – reliably, consistently, and at scale.

You will be one of three senior operations leaders shaping how BEAT81 delivers its product – working alongside expansion and studio operations leadership to ensure our gyms perform flawlessly as we scale.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working close to the real product environment — someone who understands how much equipment performance, sound, and technical reliability shape the workout experience for members.

Your Mission

As Head of Operations (Equipment & Technical Operations) you own the end-to-end reliability and evolution of everything physical and technical inside our gyms – plus the supply chain and commercial vendor relationships that make it all possible.

Your scope covers bikes, power meters, sensors, sound systems, lighting, cardio machines, headphones, microphones, and all connected hardware setups. You own the equipment lifecycle from specification through vendor negotiation, procurement, warehouse distribution, installation, maintenance, and end-of-life – across both active gyms and new launches.

You ensure that every BEAT81 gym delivers a flawless training experience — where equipment performs reliably, sensor data is accurate, and new innovations can scale operationally across the network.

This is not a purely technical role.
It is not a purely operational role.

It sits at the intersection of R&D, hardware operations, supply chain, and systems thinking.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

End-to-End Gym Reliability

• Single point of ownership for every piece of hardware across all BEAT81 studios- no gaps, no grey zones
• 100% hardware uptime, every class, every studio, every minute
• Smart lifecycle management that keeps the fleet scalable and cost-efficient as we grow
• Hardware so reliable it becomes the invisible backbone of an exceptional member experience

Hardware Maintenance & Execution

• Uncompromising reliability of our sensor-based systems- the heartbeat of our product- and data accuracy across thousands of weekly workouts
• Tight, scalable maintenance and replacement processes for bikes, power meters, and cardio machines
• Flawless rollout and long-term stability of sound systems, microphones, headphones, and lighting
• A relentless drive to raise the bar on hardware performance and operational standards

Supply Chain & Commercial Management

• End-to-end ownership of the equipment supply chain: spec, order, warehouse, deliver
• Hard-nosed vendor negotiations across pricing, volume, payment terms, and contracts- with real commercial outcomes
• Multi-supplier relationship management across international hardware partners, including direct China sourcing
• Clean, structured procurement for studio furniture and non-workout items aligned to design specifications
• Full inventory visibility, per-studio cost control, and zero supply surprises
• Ownership of a seven-figure annual equipment budget 

Hardware R&D & Innovation

• End-to-end leadership of BEAT81's R&D function- overseeing the pipeline, the team, and the outcomes
• Co-creating next-generation equipment with our Innovation team, driving sensor protocol decisions, and shaping the hardware that defines our product
• Rigorous validation, testing, and readiness processes- nothing ships until it's proven at scale
• The bridge between bold innovation and rock-solid, repeatable operations across every studio

Launch Readiness (Equipment & Hardware)

• Zero-compromise hardware readiness for every new gym opening- on time, on spec, day one
• Full ownership of ordering, delivery, installation, and pre-launch testing in lockstep with the Expansion team
• Post-launch stability monitoring and fast-response risk mitigation from day one onwards

Operational Performance & KPIs

• Building the SOPs and playbooks that turn great operations into a scalable system
• Owning uptime, availability, and readiness KPIs- and holding the organization accountable to them
• Full P&L ownership for workout equipment- driving cost efficiency without ever compromising quality
• Spotting systemic risks before they surface and leading the fixes that prevent them from recurring

Who You Are

• 8+ years of experience in operations, hardware execution, technical infrastructure, supply chain, or similar multi-site environments
• Strong operational process mindset with hands-on execution capability
• Comfortable owning complex technical setups in real-world environments (bikes, sensors, audio systems, connected hardware)
• Commercial acumen: experienced negotiating vendor terms, managing procurement budgets, and optimizing cost structures
• Experience managing international hardware vendors and procurement processes
• People leadership: able to manage and develop a small team across technical, operational, and commercial functions
• KPI-driven, structured, and solution-oriented
• Calm under pressure, decisive, and pragmatic

Willing to be physically present in gyms when needed and comfortable working close to the real product environment
