THE POSITION

FanDuel is looking for an Intelligent Automation Engineering Senior Manager to drive our automated solutions implementation initiatives. You will play a key role on the Intelligent Automation team, with full ownership of the strategy in Intelligent Automation delivery, and will collaborate with multiple departments within FanDuel including, but not limited to Business Units, Tech Transformation, AI Solutions, Data Science, Product, and Customer Service. This is an exciting opportunity to help elevate automated solutions initiatives at a premier gaming company.

In addition to the specific responsibilities outlined above, employees may be required to perform other such duties as assigned by the Company. This ensures operational flexibility and allows the Company to meet evolving business needs.

THE GAME PLAN
Everyone on our team has a part to play

  • Lead a team of Automation Engineers, driving the design, development, and delivery of scalable intelligent automation solutions enhanced with AI capabilities.
  • Partner closely with the Transformation Manager and Associates, and Solutions Architect to assess feasibility, shape solutions, and translate business requirements into technical architecture.
  • Own the engineering execution of the automation roadmap, ensuring high-quality, timely delivery aligned with business priorities.
  • Oversee implementation of end-to-end automation solutions, integrating RPA, APIs and AI/ML components where they provide clear value.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership in solution design, code reviews, debugging, exception handling, and performance optimization.
  • Ensure all solutions adhere to governance frameworks, security standards, and best practices for automation and AI systems.
  • Manage production stability by leading incident response, root cause analysis (PIRs), and continuous improvement efforts to enhance reliability and resilience.
  • Define and track engineering success metrics (e.g., performance, scalability, ROI, error rates), leveraging data to continuously optimize solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and data teams to enable robust, production-grade AI integrations and reusable automation frameworks.
  • Drive adoption of AI-first and innovative approaches within automation, identifying opportunities to enhance existing processes with intelligent capabilities.
  • Mentor and develop Automation Engineers, building capability in advanced automation techniques and applied AI, while ensuring balanced workload and effective delivery.
  • Support knowledge sharing across the broader team, increasing awareness and understanding of intelligent automation and AI capabilities.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the Intelligent Automation program by aligning engineering practices with broader team strategy and global innovation efforts.

THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • 8-10 years of experience in software engineering, automation, or related fields, with a strong focus on Intelligent Automation and/or AI-driven solutions.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing automation engineering teams and delivering complex, large-scale automation programs.
  • Hands-on experience designing and deploying production-grade automation solutions, including AI-enhanced use cases.
  • Advanced technical leadership across Intelligent Automation and AI technologies, including RPA (e.g. UiPath), Python-based automation, Power Platform, and applied AI (LLMs, NLP, document understanding).
  • Strong experience delivering AI-enabled automation solutions, with practical application of techniques such as task/process mining, intelligent document processing, and decision automation.
  • Proven ability to lead and scale enterprise-grade automation initiatives, ensuring robustness, reusability, and operational excellence.
  • Deep understanding of how to align intelligent automation and AI capabilities with business objectives, translating strategy into scalable engineering solutions.
  • Solid architectural mindset with experience designing end-to-end automation ecosystems, integrating APIs, data services, and AI components.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive technical decisions in complex environments.
  • Effective stakeholder collaboration, with the ability to bridge business context and technical execution in partnership with transformation teams.

The applicable salary range for this position is $171,000 - $214,000 USD, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
