Smarkets is a peer-to-peer exchange platform for betting and trading on sport and politics. We operate two main consumer products - the Smarkets exchange and SBK sportsbook app - in the UK, US, and other global markets.
We are currently looking for a committed new team member to join our success story. Reporting to the Compliance Operations Team Lead, as a Junior Compliance Operations Analyst the primary function is to protect the company from exposure to money laundering, specifically in regards to onboarding new customers and ongoing monitoring of existing customers.

About The Role

  • Review customer accounts for markers of gambling-related harm
  • Interact with customers via phone and email
  • Assist with customer affordability checks
  • Assist with external betting integrity requests
  • Assisting the wider compliance team with ongoing projects
  • Working closely with the wider compliance team and company

About You

  • Keen interest in iGaming and ready to build a career in compliance

  • Passionate about learning

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Level C2 required) - customer contacts may be made via email or phone

  • You are able to work a flexible schedule, sometimes including weekends and public holidays

  • Excellent attention to detail 

  • Good typing/keyboard skills and computer literacy

  • Right to work in Malta

  • Ideally Malta based
