Internship Description

The SIE Legal & Public Policy team provides professional legal services and advice on a range of legal and business affairs matters that are critical to the ongoing business operations, goals and objectives of SIE. We work closely with business partners, teams and leaders across SIE to understand and support each area of the business, including product development, marketing and sales. We strive to provide strategic solutions-oriented advice that complies with relevant laws and regulations on a global basis while reflecting the highest ethics and standards of SIE and Sony Corporation.

Responsibilities:

The Legal Intern will be exposed to a wide variety of legal work related to product counseling, including working with and supporting attorneys who serve as the primary points of contact and coordination to product, engineering, design, and business teams that launch the most innovative products and services in the gaming industry. Accordingly, you will own tasks and assignments related to technology transactions/integrations, user experience reviews, regulatory research and responses, marketing/advertising, IP, privacy, and trust and safety. In doing so, you will have opportunities to meaningfully engage directly with subject matter experts across the Legal & Public Policy team around the world!

Qualifications:

  • Holds a bachelor's degree and is pursuing a graduate degree (JD) in law; in first or second year of law school (third year OK if in part-time 4-yr program)
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership for your work
  • Strong communication skills - both verbal and written
  • Eagerness to learn from and collaborate with cross-functional teams and domain experts
  • Good listener with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Enthusiasm and passion for technology (interest in video game industry a plus!), law, and business
  • Must be available to work for 12 weeks from May – August or June – September
  • Internships are available to students who are US citizens or international students with an F-1 visa

Our intern positions offer a fixed hourly pay rate. Please note that the pay rate is exclusive to the internship period and may not reflect what pay may look like following the completion of an internship.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. 

Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. 

 

Intern Pay Range
$45.75$45.75 USD
