THE POSITION

Our competitive edge comes from making decisions based on accurate and timely data. As a Senior Machine Learning Engineering Manager, you will manage a newly established team within our machine learning engineering function to grow and further develop best-in-class customer experiences for our products. You would take part in leading a team and delivering on roadmaps, leveraging the latest in AI/ML technologies to enable the business with innovative products.

This is a role for someone who is looking to exercise and develop their core leadership skills both from a technical and people management point of view. You will have established software engineer capabilities and people manager capabilities. In this role, you will manage a US machine learning engineering team to meet customer, business, and technology needs. Additionally, you will be expected to actively influence the team to invent, evolve, and/or deprecate data solutions.

You should have a passion for imparting knowledge and a proven ability to grow a team and lead it to success. You will show a pragmatic approach to problem-solving; your experience should be built on a solid foundation of engineering development and operational support, and you should be able to show a proven background in coaching/ people management.

  • Hire and directly lead a team of exceptional ML engineers while being responsible for driving all aspects of machine learning in production environments
  • Build a team culture that emphasizes the importance of using reliable scientific methods, striving for engineering excellence, fostering strong customer relationships, and encouraging creative thinking
  • Mentor technical leaders and set high standards for excellence in architecture and code design as it relates to ML platforms and patterns 
  • Introduce major innovations that can lead to new product features or new areas of business
  • Handle complex project scope and risks with data, analytics and creative problem solving 
  • Develop engineering processes and collaboration models to optimize team efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and execute strategic roadmap
  • Have experience with developing AI platforms and technologies, including the use of generative models

THE STATS
What we’re looking for in our next teammate

  • A minimum 5+ years of experience in full-time engineering experience, with a strong track record of managing advanced data science and ML environments
  • 2+ year of prior engineering management or equivalent experience, has managed engineering team of 5 or more
  • A strong track record of mentoring and leading teams in successful projects
  • Possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience managing and delivering multiple projects in parallel

Our salary intelligence, powered by our AI algorithms, has calculated an estimated range for this position between $150,000 - $200,000 . Please note that the actual salary for this position may vary, as it is dependent on various factors including but not limited to experience, location, and market dynamics.
