LA28 is the independent, non-profit, privately funded organizing committee for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Arrivals & Departures (AND) Planning Manager

The AND Planning Manager is responsible for strategic planning and operational readiness across Arrivals & Departures. This role ensures all planning activities—including workforce forecasting, training program oversight, readiness exercises, and contingency planning—are integrated and delivered on time. The Planning Manager leads a small team (including the Talent, Training & Support Associate) and works closely with cross-functional partners to guarantee a seamless Games-time experience for stakeholders. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning Leadership & Governance: Develop and maintain the AND master schedule, including milestones, readiness gates, and operational rehearsals.
  • Readiness & Operational Assurance: Lead readiness reviews, table-top exercises, and contingency planning for peak arrival/departure periods.
  • Workforce & Training Oversight: Provide strategic direction for AND training programs; oversee development and delivery of training materials and FAQs; partner with HR and Workforce Planning to forecast staffing needs.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Manage planning dependencies with Transport, Accommodation, Accreditation, Security, and other relevant functions.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Maintain the AND risk register; identify mitigations and monitor closure of high-priority risks; oversee issue resolution processes during Games-time.
  • Team Leadership: Direct and support Planning Associates and Talent & Training Associate; set priorities and monitor performance. 

Background & Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in project or operational planning for large-scale events, aviation, transport, or logistics.
  • Expertise in planning tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar).
  • Strong risk management, readiness assurance, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional forums and drive decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; executive-level briefing skills.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Event Planning, Sports Management, or related field.
  • PMP or equivalent certification preferred. 

The annual base salary range for this position is $88,000 - $115,000. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
