Job Description

Wasserman Music's Brand Partnerships team connects artists with the world's most influential and leading brands, representing virtually every category. In doing so, the team is able to foster authentic partnerships by connecting talent with brands that align with their identities, ethos, passions, and audiences. 

The Manager is responsible for supporting the day-to-day marketing needs of Wasserman’s clients and department leadership by accomplishing client related sales, media, and marketing efforts. This includes talent sales, branding, public relations, digital marketing, social media, and content development, as well as participating in new business development efforts. These efforts will consist of prospecting and closing brand partnerships, sales reporting and partnership activation as well as provide high-level administrative support for clients, touring agents and managers. 

This role is based in our Los Angeles, CA office.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • High focus on sales, client service, networking and market research; responsible for prospecting, outbound sales calls and pitches.
  • Establishes brand, agency and media relationships that lead to brand partnerships.
  • Participate in client pitch meetings and presentations; negotiate deals and oversee negotiation of deals on behalf of the touring agents.
  • Secure offers and present to responsible agent and artist teams
  • Work closely with the brand partnerships team to drive brand partnership opportunities for clients across all genres, with a key focus on the electronic genre.
  • Assist marketing leadership with relationship management with existing partners; ensure client contracts are fulfilled
  • Work with genre strategist lead, touring agents and client managers to accomplish the marketing objectives of our artists   
  • Manage incoming queries for clients; answer, screen, and direct incoming marketing leads ensuring a high level of professional customer service and confidentiality.
  • Travel for sales pitches, client activations and industry events on behalf on Wasserman’s brand partnership efforts
  • Cover shows when possible to provide visibility and support to artists teams
  • Stay visible in the music community via award shows, conferences, panels and other industry events
  • Share progress reports and track revenue against the genre clients at Wasserman as well as cultivate a firm understanding of the genre, and genre trends, at large
  • Stay current on market chatter, deals done with industry competitors and non-Wasserman artists

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (music management, sales, marketing, partnerships, communications, or public relations a plus).
  • 3-5 years of experience in relevant role
  • Possess persuasiveness skills to successfully negotiate on behalf of the client’s interests.
  • Position requires considerable flexibility in scheduling and the willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to prospect and research marketing and media partnerships on behalf of the clients.
  • Strong understanding of social/digital media.
  • Social and digital analytics and data analysis skills a plus
  • Well-developed communication skills, creative thinking and writing skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills
  • Requires self-management and project management abilities.
  • Ability to build strong, lasting relationships internally and externally.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and manage expectations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all situations. Ability to exercise discretion, sound judgment and significant initiative.

Actual base salary is dependent on several factors including but not limited to; market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), level of responsibility, budgetary considerations, tenure at the company (for current employees), etc. The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Compensation decisions are dependent on circumstances of each hire.
