WORK OPTION: 4 days a week in the NY office   The National Basketball Association (NBA) is a global sports and media organization with the mission to inspire and connect people everywhere through the power of basketball.  Built around five professional sports leagues:  the NBA, WNBA, NBA G League, NBA 2K League and Basketball Africa League, the NBA has established a major international presence with games and programming available in 214 countries and territories in 60 languages, and merchandise for sale in more than 200 countries and territories on all seven continents.  NBA rosters at the start of the 2023-24 season featured a record 125 international players from 40 countries and territories.  NBA Digital’s assets include NBA TV, NBA.com, the NBA App and NBA League Pass.  The NBA has created one of the largest social media communities in the world, with more than 2.3 billion likes and followers globally across all leagues, team and player platforms.  NBA Cares, the NBA’s global social responsibility platform, partners with renowned community-based organizations around the world to address important social issues in the areas of education, inclusion, youth and family development, and health and wellness.      Position Summary: The Manager, Business Development is a key member of the Business Development team responsible for generating revenue by developing and selling integrated marketing partnerships for the NBA, WNBA, G League, USA Basketball and NBA 2K League.    Major Responsibilities: Contribute to revenue generation by supporting the development and sale of integrated marketing partnerships for the NBA, WNBA, G League, USA Basketball and NBA 2K League    Under the direction of a Business Development Team Lead, pursue prospects through initial contact strategy, development and delivery of sales presentations, negotiation and contract execution  Lead cross-functional working groups consisting of key internal stakeholders (e.g., Media, Activation, Partnership Development, Social Responsibility, etc.) to develop customized marketing platforms that align with prospective partner objectives  Develop and write strategic, customized presentations and partnership proposals for prospects  Research and identify key categories, companies and contacts to pursue for potential partnership across portfolio of leagues  Establish and build relationships with key external contacts (e.g., corporate decision makers at Fortune 500 companies and influencers in the sports marketing and agency world)  Actively contribute innovative thinking and fresh ideas that help lead to new revenue generating sponsorship opportunities  Effectively maintain sales pipeline and reporting documents, as well as other duties as directed   Required Education/Professional Experience: Bachelor's Degree  4 to 6 years of sponsorship sales and/or business development experience at league, team and/or agency   Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes: Energetic, self-starter with a passion for uncovering synergies between Fortune 500 brands and the NBA  Ultimate teammate with a demonstrated history of contributing to a positive and inclusive culture  Strong knowledge of sports marketing and/or sponsorship landscape  Proficient at conducting industry research, prospecting, outreach, pitch ideation, and proposal development   Excellent written and verbal communicator; ability to build trusted relationships both internally and externally  Proven ability to balance and advance multiple projects at once  Proficient with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint     Salary Range: $105,000 - $120,000  The NBA does not accept unsolicited resumes from search firms or any other third parties.
