Our data centers host critical workloads ranging from real-time game streaming to content distribution, developer build systems, and testing environments.
The Manager, Data Center Technical Services, will lead a central team that owns SIE’s data center standards and provides technical consultancy across the global portfolio of leased facilities. Working in partnership with operations teams and external vendors, the team ensures that white space designs and fit-outs are created and delivered consistently and that providers meet SIE’s technical standards and service requirements.
Team Leadership – Manage a central team of subject matter experts, providing guidance, prioritization, and professional development.
White Space Design & Fit-out – Define and review white space designs and rack layouts, including power distribution (from room PDUs down), data and cooling. Work in partnership with DC Operations to specify installations and layouts in response to infrastructure requests.
Standards Ownership – Develop, maintain, and enforce SIE technical standards for leased facilities, covering power, cooling, fire suppression, security, data and floorspace management.
Fit-out Oversight – Oversee the implementation of fit-out projects, ensuring vendor execution aligns with SIE standards and service requirements.
Maintenance Oversight – Support DC Operations in monitoring and reviewing provider maintenance activities, ensuring adherence to SIE standards and escalation where risks or deviations are identified.
M&E Risk Management – Identify, track, and escalate mechanical and electrical risks that could impact SIE’s environments, ensuring mitigation plans are in place.
Tooling Ownership – Own and manage relevant M&E tooling to provide visibility and monitoring of the white space environment.
Technical Audit & Compliance – Establish and run a program of technical audits to verify compliance with SIE standards and provider obligations, ensuring risks are identified and remediated.
Internal Consultancy – Advise product and engineering teams on power, cooling, and logistical requirements during planning, design, and deployments.
Vendor & Partner Interface – Collaborate with data center providers and external vendors to ensure SIE requirements are fully understood and incorporated into delivery.
Vendor Management Partnership – Participate in vendor service reviews and technical governance forums, providing input on performance, compliance, and alignment with SIE’s standards.
Due Diligence Support – Contribute technical expertise to site selection and due diligence processes.
Incident Support – Act as a second- or third-line escalation point for Operations during major incidents, providing subject matter input to resolution.
Knowledge & Documentation – Capture lessons learned from fit-outs, audits, incidents, and due diligence activities, ensuring knowledge is standardized and shared.
Sustainability & Efficiency – Ensure designs and standards incorporate energy efficiency and sustainability considerations.
Cross-functional Alignment – Partner closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure technical decisions support long-term strategy.
