THE OPPORTUNITY

We are hiring a Mid-level Frontend Software Engineer for our CODE - Retention team!
CODE is an acronym for Consumer Digital Experience, which means we're in charge of the experience and services that will guide people's wellbeing journey. Our main goal in CODE is to make wellbeing universal. From knowing about Gympass and getting access to exclusive benefits to using our vast partner's network, it is in the end-user experience. 
CODE teams are responsible for developing and maintaining Gympass's App, frontend, and backend services, and Design System and work closely with product, UX, and data teams to create an excellent experience for the users of our platform.
Our mission as a Retention team is to reduce the overall churn by recommending partners and apps, helping users explore their plans, and showing them the Gympass value.

YOUR IMPACT

  • You will have plenty of opportunities to take part in architectural decisions, suggest improvements, bring innovation to the table, and ensure design docs are up to date.
  • You can interact with the product team and other business stakeholders in a highly collaborative, agile environment. You will be accountable for your decisions and possess a high level of ownership over the products you are delivering. You will take ownership of some key features, perform pull-request reviews, and take part in all the architectural decisions of the squad.
  • You are a data-driven person who asks for data to support product decisions before blindly implementing things. You simplify the scope of what you are constantly developing.
  • You are bold and innovative. You are eager to learn and share knowledge and improve your toolset of technical, business continuity, and communication skills to provide more and more impact to the company. 
  • You ensure successful deliveries and promote the long-term technical health of our journeys.
  • Ensure a high bar on code quality standards, making devs proud of their work.
  • You spread development best practices such as code reviews, pair programming, TDD, etc.
  • Build reusable code for future use.
  • Take part in incident resolution and troubleshooting in production.
  • Live the mission: inspire and empower others by genuinely caring for your own wellbeing and your colleagues. Bring wellbeing to the forefront of work, and create a supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable taking care of themselves, taking time off, and finding work-life balance.

WHO YOU ARE

We expect you to have the following qualifications:

  • Experience in web development
  • Experience working with modern agile product development teams
  • Experience with ReactJS + Typescript ecosystem
  • Experience with GraphQL (Client-side and Server-side)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Strong communication skills, including verbal and written English and Portuguese
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent practical experience

The following would be considered a plus:

  • Experience with Backend.
  • Experience with React Native.
  • Experience with Global State Management in React (e.g., Redux).
  • Experience with End-to-End tests (e.g., Cypress).
  • Experience with A/B testing platforms.
  • Experience in tracking product events (e.g., Google Analytics)
  • Experience with observability tools like Datadog and Sentry
  • Experience with Design System
  • Experience with System Integrations
  • Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA)
  • Experience in our Tech Stack in general
