Team Description/チーム概要

The Animation Production Group consists of two teams, each with a primary focus on either the domestic Japanese market or overseas markets.

The domestic team takes charge of high-profile IP entrusted by original rights holders, forming production committees in collaboration with publishers, broadcasters, and merchandising partners to bring these works to life as animated productions.

Meanwhile, the overseas team engages in international co-productions in partnership with studios and licensees abroad, producing animated content tailored for the global market.

By working closely together and complementing one another, both teams aim to create animation projects that embody the distinctive creativity of NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan.

アニメ制作グループには、日本国内と海外それぞれを主な視野とした2つのチームがあります。国内チームは、原作元から有力IPを預かり、出版社や放送局、グッズメーカーなどと製作委員会を組成し、アニメ化を実現します。

一方、海外チームは、海外のスタジオやライセンシーと連携した国際共同制作を行い、グローバル市場に向けたアニメを制作します。両チームは相互に連携・補完しながら、NBCユニバーサル・エンターテイメントジャパンならではのクリエイティビティにあふれるアニメーション制作を目指しています。

Key Responsibilities/主な職務と責任

Lead and execute production strategies to secure broadcast opportunities and drive the success of anime projects in line with the company's mid- to long-term business objectives. Oversee the full production lifecycle from concept development to delivery, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to maximize title profitability. Mentor and develop team members while supporting overall team operations alongside the Senior Manager and the Director.

中長期の事業計画に基づき、編成枠の確保および各アニメ企画の成功を目指して製作戦略を遂行する。企画立案から納品までの制作プロセス全体をマネジメントし、社内外のステークホルダーと連携しながら、プロジェクトごとの収益最大化に貢献する。また、チームメンバーの育成や指導を通じて組織の力を高め、シニアマネージャー・部門長とともにチーム全体の運営を担う。

【Production】

●Content Discovery & Development:

• Stay attuned to consumer trends and identify emerging opportunities and market shifts.
• Select original works with strong commercialization potential and build trusted relationships with creators and publishers at an early stage.

●Planning & Proposal Creation

• Develop business plans (BP) and P&L projections, and secure approval from senior management.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to establish and execute project plans and operating structures.
• Drive business initiatives in line with approved plans and implement monetization strategies in partnership with the licensing sales team.   

●Forming & Managing Production Committees:

• Lead negotiations and coordination with investors and partners to establish production committees.
• Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress and financial performance.
• Develop and implement additional initiatives, including enhanced promotional activities, as needed to maximize project success and revenue

●Production Management & Quality control         

• Lead the selection and negotiation of key production and creative partners, including studios, directors, cast, and creators.
• Review scripts, animation footage, music, and other creative deliverables to ensure quality and creative excellence.
• Oversee final deliverables to ensure quality standards are met and maintain brand integrity across downstream and ancillary exploitation opportunities.

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with original creators, directors, artists, voice actors, and other key creative partners.
• Represent the company externally through speaking engagements, industry panels, conferences, and other public-facing opportunities.

• Share business strategies and market insights, and guide individual producers toward appropriate actions and decision-making.
• Improve production efficiency through the review and optimization of workflows and operational processes.

• Foster a collaborative team culture and maximize organizational effectiveness through teamwork and cross-functional cooperation.

原作開発・IP発掘

• 消費者動向に敏感に反応し、次代のトレンドを察知
• 収益化可能な原作を選定し、早期の段階で作家・版元との信頼関係を構築

企画立案・収益構造設計

• BPおよびP&Lの作成と経営層承認の獲得
• 社内外のステークホルダーと連携し企画実行体制を整備
• 計画に基づく事業推進とライセンス営業と連動した収益化施策の実行

制作委員会の組成と運営

• 出資社との交渉・調整による委員会の設立
• プロジェクト進捗、収益状況の定期的な報告
• 必要に応じてプロモーション強化などの追加施策を立案

制作管理と監修

• 制作会社・監督・キャスト・クリエイター等の選定と契約交渉
• シナリオ、映像、音楽等の制作物レビューと品質管理
• 最終納品物の品質保証と二次利用展開におけるブランドコンセプトの監修

• 原作者、監督、アーティスト、声優等クリエイターとの信頼関係の構築
• 講演や登壇機会を通じた社外発信
