Job Description

Our Company

Meru Health is setting the new standard in mental healthcare with a holistic online mental health solution to not just help people manage their mental health condition but heal and recover to get their life back. We are on a mission to help 10 million people recover from mental health challenges by 2030, by utilizing the latest science and technology. If you are looking for a place where your work has a strong impact on people's lives, we invite you to join us on our mission.

Summary

Meru Health is looking for a Regional Clinical Sales Representative to build and own provider relationships in the Research Triangle, NC (Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill) area. As we expand our reach, we're looking for an entrepreneurial leader to establish Meru as the go-to mental health resource for providers treating patients during major life transitions - from divorce, to new parenthood, grief, health diagnoses, and other significant life changes.

You'll have the autonomy to build provider networks, create local market presence, and drive patient enrollment in your region — with strong team support behind you.

This is a ground-floor opportunity to shape how we scale nationally. If you're looking to make a significant impact, own meaningful results, and help build something from the ground up, this role is for you.

What You'll Do

Build Provider Referral Networks

  • Establish and maintain relationships with primary care physicians, OB/GYNs, specialists, and other healthcare providers across the Raleigh-Durham Triangle area.
  • Develop innovative referral channels including family law attorneys who work with clients during divorce transitions
  • Execute provider education through lunch-and-learns, office visits, and relationship-building activities
  • Deliver exceptional service to providers and their patients with white-glove responsiveness
  • Create seamless referral processes that make it easy for providers to connect patients with Meru Health

Drive Regional Growth

  • Own patient enrollment targets for your region with clear metrics and accountability
  • Launch and optimize local awareness initiatives including community partnerships and events
  • Identify and cultivate new referral sources and partnerships in your market
  • Track and report on regional performance, continuously improving based on data

Collaborate Across Teams

  • Partner with clinical team to ensure smooth patient onboarding and high-quality care
  • Work with marketing to adapt messaging and materials for your local market
  • Coordinate with operations on supply chain and capacity planning for your region
  • Share insights with leadership to inform company strategy and national expansion

Be a Market Expert

  • Understand your territory deeply — know the key providers, healthcare systems, and community resources
  • Represent Meru Health’s clinical approach and value proposition to diverse healthcare audiences
  • Adapt strategies based on local market dynamics and opportunities
  • Document best practices and insights to support company growth

What Success Looks Like

First 90 Days:

  • Build relationships with 20+ high-volume healthcare providers
  • Establish 10-15 family law attorney referral partnerships
  • Execute your first provider education events
  • Generate consistent monthly referral flow

First 6 Months:

  • Achieve 250+ patient enrollments from provider referrals
  • Build a sustainable referral engine generating 100+ referrals monthly
  • Establish Meru Health as a known and trusted resource in your market
  • Create replicable processes for provider engagement

First Year:

  • Drive 600+ patient enrollments from your region
  • Build and maintain 30+ active referring provider relationships
  • Expand into new referral channels and community partnerships
  • Contribute to national strategy based on regional learnings

Who You Are

Required Experience:

  • 3+ years in healthcare sales, pharmaceutical sales, medical device sales, or provider relations
  • Biology, life sciences, or related healthcare background strongly preferred — you understand clinical concepts and speak the language of healthcare providers
  • Proven track record building and growing territory from the ground up — proactive, entrepreneurial, and skilled at creating new opportunities
  • Currently Based in Research Triangle, NC (Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill)
  • Strong relationship-building skills — providers trust you and want to work with you
  • Data-driven approach — you track performance, optimize based on metrics, and clearly communicate results

Preferred Experience:

  • Mental health, behavioral health, or related therapeutic area experience
  • Experience working in startup or high-growth environments
  • Existing provider network in the Raleigh-Durham triangle area
  • Experience building non-traditional sales channels or partnerships

Your Profile:

  • Takes Initiative: You identify opportunities, develop plans, and execute — while knowing when to collaborate and when to ask for support.
  • Relationship Builder: You understand that healthcare is about education, trust, and long-term partnerships. Providers see you as a valuable resource, not just a vendor.
  • Results-Oriented: You're motivated by clear targets and take ownership of outcomes. You celebrate wins and learn quickly from what doesn't work.
  • Adaptable: You're comfortable with ambiguity, embrace iteration, and excel at figuring out what works in your specific market.
  • Collaborative Mindset: While you'll own regional execution, you partner closely with clinical, marketing, and operations teams to drive success. You share insights, ask for input, and contribute to team learning.
  • Mission-Driven: You care about mental health access and want work that makes a real difference in people's lives.
  • Locally Present: You understand that strong healthcare relationships are built through consistent in-person engagement, not just virtual meetings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze what's working and continuously improve your approach
  • Collaborate with internal teams on strategy and execution
  • Document processes and best practices for scalability
