YOUR ROLE

As the Retail Visual Merchandising Manager, you support our consistent brand experience that drives effective merchandise sell-through across all existing and new Stio Mountain Studio™ locations. This role is part art (visual display design & execution) and part science (data driven assortment and display strategy). You are responsible for creating future season assortment & merchandising strategy in collaboration with our product, planning, and retail leadership teams as well as ensuring effective in-season VM execution in stores. You will support current and new store teams in resources for daily standards, training and various projects. You will bring experience in creating engaging training and seasonal direction, including a seasonal planogram & monthly floorset approach to maximize consistency and promote repeat customer visits. You will consolidate and grow resources around consistent brand standards and support the variety of needs within our brick and mortar growth and be excited to jump in and join our retail teams as needed in projects and training support. The responsibilities of this role will continue to evolve with growth ahead for our retail channel and company.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the retail store assortment recommendations and go-to-market planning process for future season retail product line launches in partnership with our Product, Planning, and retail leadership teams.
  • Utilize a data-driven approach to analyze product assortment opportunities and create visual merchandising strategies to support the sell through of the seasonal assortments and buys.
  • Utilize a data-driven approach to future season assortment color choices and marry it with your knowledge of industry color trends as well as your vision for complimentary color stories to bring to life a cohesive and effective strategy for store assortments.
  • Create and rollout strategic seasonal Plan-o-gram & Floorset calendars and detailed execution documents designed to maximize sell-through while aligning with broader brand & eCommerce channel campaign timing.
  • Provide monthly VM direction for store teams utilizing PD priority direction, marketing brief, catalog key stories, inventory position, localized demand, and weather impacts.
  • Continuously evolve existing visual merchandising training resources, develop new best practices & resources, ensure effective rollout, and monitor ongoing execution consistency.
  • Support training opportunities for Mountain Studio teams, virtual and in-person, collaborating with Retail Inventory & Training Manager to create needed resources
  • Own seasonal imagery and product signage program for stores from concept through production and installation.
  • Provide visual merchandising direction in response to sell-through or inventory updates when applicable.
  • Own new store planning for layout design, fixture & hardware quantities, signage needs, props, and mannequins. Provide budgets, advise on lead-times, and place final orders.
  • Support new store project planning and timelines with our merchandising props, window, and in-store signage budgets. In-person new store support within the final 1-2 weeks alongside the new store team to set VM plans and train new team members.
  • Support store-specific merchandising & storytelling efforts for our Mountain Studios and Wholesale Outpost partners (with key stakeholders as needed), including VM guidelines, standards, signage placement, one-off challenges per store, and storytelling input. This work is virtual when practical and on-site as needed.
  • Ongoing collaboration with Store Managers and store teams, key stakeholders in Marketing and Product Design, and Retail Director.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree and subsequent 3+ years’ leadership in retail visual merchandising required, preferably including softgoods/apparel experience
  • Able to efficiently and effectively deliver on timelines and communicate support needs
  • Able to work independently and collaborate cross-divisionally as needed to complete various projects
  • Able to travel up to 30% as needed throughout the year to support new Mountain Studios, key installations or plan-o-gram executions, and wholesale Outpost partnerships/stores.
  • Effective trainer and collaborator through various project scopes
  • Calm, organized approach to timelines and able to jump in wherever needed, as this role evolves able to adjust to growing needs of our team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience in retail seasonal assortment and merchandising strategy
  • Experience in creating planogram direction for brand consistency
  • Experience in collaborative project management

THE FINE PRINT

  • This role is full-time salaried and exempt, reporting to the Retail Director
  • Ideally based in Jackson Hole, Salt Lake City, or Denver but flexible if within 40 miles from any of our Mountain Studio locations.
  • Required time working in our Mountain Studios each month
  • When supporting an on-site project, must be able to move around the retail space, move upwards of 50lbs, and occasionally traverse ladders

We provide competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives and benefits. The base salary range for this role is $70,000-$90,000. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of the range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors including experience, skills and qualifications.
