THE POSITION
Our roster has an opening with your name on it

We are looking for an experienced Senior Manager of Security Operations with a developer mindset. The successful candidate will be responsible for building, maintaining, and operating the FanDuel Group Security Operations Center. You will be responsible for helping future and current engineers grow through the Security Operations teams through mentorship and experience to help turn it into action. You will support and manage teams of security analysts and engineers globally across three geographic locations, develop and improve SOC processes and reporting, and ensure responsiveness and proper handling of security events. As a Senior Manager in the Security Operations team, you will contribute to Cybersecurity Strategy and Operational Planning and be in the forefront in protecting our customers, our platform, and company. 

Collaboration with security engineers, developers, vendors and business units to constantly improve the overall security posture will be the key to success at FanDuel Group. We are One Team and looking for a team player with highly technical skills to continue to drive automation, efficiency, and resiliency to respond swiftly to risks and threats. This role will be driving roadmaps with stakeholders across our Products and Engineering domains as well as our security partners from Detection and Automated Response, Enterprise Security and Software Security Engineering teams. We are looking for a technical leader who wants the challenge of defending against attackers at scale through the team, our technology, and processes.  

 

THE GAME PLAN
 Everyone on our team has a part to play

  • Drive continuous improvement of security incident response processes for better efficiency and effectiveness. 
  • Oversee SOC collaboration with IT, Engineering, Legal, and Fraud teams across different time zones. 
  • Successfully implement technology platforms for a unified view across FanDuel, from workforce to production applications. 
  • Manage and develop security analysts and engineers, ensuring technical understanding of the systems they protect and the attacks they defend against while keep our customer top of mind 
  • Ensure efficiency and timely reporting of security incidents to key stakeholders both internal and external 
  • Steer, align, and execute the Cybersecurity vision and strategy, developing clear roadmaps, programs, and projects that deliver measurable results 
  • Improve and define operational metrics and key performance indicators to drive operational excellence with relentless iteration 
  • Provide a constant feedback loop of pragmatic requirements for engineering to support our security operations team and protect our platforms and customers 
  • Stay updated on relevant cybersecurity news and events, with a mindset on implementing lessons learned improve defenses and protections 
  • Identify, evaluate, and conduct proof-of-concepts for new technologies, collaborating with security engineers on implementation. 
  • Track and manage technical documentation, ensuring relevant parties are regularly updated - Be a good partner. 
  • Mentor business units on cybersecurity guidelines, promoting knowledge sharing within technical communities.

What we’re looking for in our next teammate

  • Empathetic contributor who has experience operating effectively across teams and disciplines in highly ambiguous and rapidly changing environments and have successfully executed on ambitious projects 
  • You are an engineer first who is passionate about security and the people we protect through involvement of the community and proven success in growing teams, individuals or processes 
  • Customer-focused and business-oriented leader who can manage risk discussions from our stakeholders and security teams to help empower decisions to move processes forward 
  • Significant experience working in Security with proficiency in Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Security Orchestration Automation Response (SOAR), Cloud Security, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), Web Application Firewalls, and Vulnerability Management and Threat Intelligence applications. 
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written to help articulate and lead Incident response processes; ability to write about technical subjects to a wide audience for reporting on security incidents in regulated industries  
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Information Security, Engineering, Computer Science or related field preferred 
  • At least one of the following certifications with combined experience: CISSP, CEH, GCIH, GCFA, Security+, OSCP 
  • Security experience with cloud native company expanding across multiple environments from, *nix/Windows operating systems, cloud resources (e.g. AWS, GCP, O365), and customer-facing web applications 
  • Deep knowledge of attacker methodologies and techniques and corresponding incident response methodologies to detect and protect.
